Hi guys, I wanted to ask you guys if it is OK to publish the exact same article on multiple article directories for the purpose of building backlinks - Will google consider it as duplicate content or separate backlinks? Any input on this will be highly appreciated.

      Yes it's fine. /thread

If anyone says anything else they don't understand the purpose of article directories. Go search the main forum. There are probably 1,000 threads on this same question.

Some of them do, some of them don't. EZA, for example, sometimes accepts articles that are published elsewhere, but sometimes doesn't.

To the OP: You can do, but you are better off with unique content for the article directories backlinks. You can also spin your content, which is a good way to create uniqueness of every of your backlinks.

I think you should spin them first with The Best Spinner, Spinner Chief or the SEO Article Generator 2.0., and convert it into various articles. After that, you can submit them to various article directories as unique content. Spun content will be only worth for backlinks and traffic, but not for search engine traffic.

Unique content is always the best for SEO.

Spinning isn't necessary on bulk distributed articles.. Spending time spinning them isn't very useful since you are putting them on sites that have thousands of articles that are the same as the thousands of articles on all the other article sites.. Blast and forget..

Unfortunately this has turned most article sites in to little better than directory sites..

Obviously it is considered a duplicate content, you better consider rewriting them and make it unique then submit to directories.

dont use TBS or spinner chief to spin articles for article directories. They wont read well and get denied if there is no auto approve.

Spin them manually or just rewrite them.

I am totally agree with danlew, i think you should spin article once before submit it to article directories. There are several online tools available which help you to spin one article to 50 different types of articles.

Everyone who thinks you need to spin, please go search the main forum for "duplicate content" or any of the other 1,000 threads on the subject. You are all misinformed and wasting your time.

And the links you're getting are terrible anyway, so might as well save the time.

You do have a point that links will be terrible anyways, so why waste time. And many people do consider this same technique of not bothering themselves to rewriting/spun articles for mass distribution.

But the safe side is always better to follow. I mean, now that Google is active in watching duplicate content (Panda and farmer update):

        - what if just the other day, a site with tons of duplicate content revolving over the internet gets banned?
        - what if a website gets sandboxed
        - what if the ranking of a website falls instantly?

These are few things we need to consider. Yes, link might not be worth to spun article, but our efforts are, efforts that we are putting to get every single backlink for our site. And I am sure, no one would be willing to risk website(s).

@OP For mass distribution of same article, do spun it a little or just the first & last paragraphs.

        Good day.

Many Internet Marketers post articles on their blogs and then submit the exact same article to article directories thereafter.

I have done this many, many times.

    It works pretty well.

Just make sure whatever you submit reads well and can stand on its own two feet.

Don't think in terms of SEO, think in terms of branding and you will do well.

It is possible to submit your articles to as many directories as you like but what exactly do you expect to achieve by doing this? Even if all of directories attempt to publish your contents on their pages, after a while you may find a lot of previously indexed pages gone online because if you study some tips which relate to the latest Google updates, you will notice that duplicate contents, may temporarily get indexed and crawled by Google but they may disappear very fast.

If you plan on promoting your website through articles to be written and submitted to directories, attempt to spend the time and prepare some valuable contents and then submit them only to a few directories and not adding them to tens of sites. Then commence writing newer ones and repeat this cycle. Even the ideal way would be writing one article and then submitting it to just one site and then preparing other contents and submitting them to other sites to avoid duplicate issue.

    There are two methods:

1- Republishing the articles of other authors from one article directory to an other. For doing so one should use the same Resource Box/Author Signature. Only this method is legal.

2- The other one is submitting ones own one article to many article directories. That is also legal. It does not fall in the category of Duplicate Content. It is also preferable to use the link of the very first article directory that you have submitted that article first.

In simplest terms. NO, it does not matter if you publish same article on multiple article directories. The fact that those article directories are accepting articles that are already present on other directories helps us understand that what you're doing is absolutely legal and appropriate.

When Google says Duplicate content, it only means content that is repeated on your personal website. Your website content should be 100% unique and should be providing real value to the subscribers. Rest all works well. Like someone said above, there are plenty of services that does this task and it does generate good results. Ensure that the content that goes on the directories is of good quality. That's it!

This is what I have personally experienced and I am quite sure it would help you too. :-)
