Note: There are no affiliate links in this post and I'm not affiliated with any of the services that I recommend in this guide.

Google Adsense has always been one of the easiest ways to make money from your blog or website. Once your website is set up and ranking, you'll enjoy a steady flow of visitors, a percentage of whom will click on your ads, resulting in money in the your bank account.

It worked in 2005 and still works in 2012, although some things have changed. If you follow these steps I'm about to show you, you can make an absolute killing off of Google Adsense.

Step 1: Locate Your Keywords
As with most internet marketing methods, the very first step is to find your niche and keywords. If you want to learn how to make money with Adsense, you need to understand how to make money online in general. And that begins with proper niche and keyword research.

This step is crucial because visitors will be using these keywords to find your website. You need to find a keyword that has high searches, but low competition.
Before finding the exact keywords you're going to use, you need some niche ideas. Places you can use to brainstorm ideas include...
How to Find A Profitable Keyword
There are two ways you can go about actually finding keywords.

First, you can do keyword research yourself, manually. The most common tool for this is the Google Keyword Tool. It's completely free and I still use it for my keyword research, even though I have a bunch of fancy paid software too.
If you want to go for fancy paid software, which will save you time, I recommend getting Market Samurai which the most popular keyword research too.

You can get a free 40 day trial of MS (normal length is 14 days I think) if you type in marketsamurai.com/thirtydc

These tools are for more advanced users who understand the fundamentals of keyword research. If you're a total newbie, you can still benefit from these tools. Just make sure to go through the tutorials first.

You want one keyword you want your main domain to rank for in Google. This should be the keyword with the most searches. Once you find that, you want a list of related keywords to target individual pages for.

For example, if your main keyword is "Christmas gifts" your secondary keywords may be "Christmas gifts for mom", "Christmas gifts for boys", "Christmas gifts for girls" and so on.

The second way to do keyword research is to outsource it. There are some great gigs in the Warriors for Hire section that provide keyword packages.
Here are the criteria I personally follow:
  • EXACT local monthly searches at least 1600
  • CPC at least $1
  • Allintitle and allinurl less than 50,000
Allintitle and allinurl gives you a rough estimate of your competition. It tells you how many OTHER pages on the internet have your keywords in the title/URL. To find these numbers, simply type into Google search, allintitle: "your keyword in quotes" and see how many results come up.

Also be sure to check the stats of the top 10 ranking websites with market samurai or some other keyword tool. If a lot of sites have low page rank, domain age and backlinks to page, then the KW is easier to rank for.

Note that when using Google KW tool, ignore the competition column. It doesn't tell you about your actual competition in the search results, but how many advertisers are bidding on the keyword in Adwords. So you actually want high "competition" because that means the niche is profitable.

Step Two: Buy Your Domain
Once you find a profitable keyword, you need a domain to host your website on. Again, there are 2 ways to go about this.

Aged Domain - Faster Rankings
The first option is to pay for an aged domain, a domain that's been around for a while. Google loves these domains, and you can get traffic to these faster. These domains usually cost $11 and up.

A few places where you can buy aged domains include
  • Digital Point Domain Sell/Buy/Trade (free)- This is a forum where people sell domains they no longer want. You can find a lot of gems in this thread.
  • Godaddy Domain Auctions ($4.70 per year) - Here, you can bid and buy domains that are expiring. You can search through domains by keywords, age and some other factors. You can't search by page rank though.
  • Register Compass ($37 per month) or Fresh Drop ($99/month) - These are paid services that lets you browse through and search for aged domains. The best part is you can search by page rank, backlinks, age, and other important ranking metrics.
Brand New Domain - Exact Match Keyword
The downside to an aged domain is that you don't get to choose what the domain name is. While an aged domain's existing backlinks, PR and age more than makes up for this, having your keyword in your domain name will give you a nice ranking boost and will make your life a whole lot easier.

The best type of domain to get is an exact match domain. This means is essentiallywww.yourkeyword.com/org/net/info/co.

Register a new domain costs anywhere from $2.99 - $24.99 per year, depending on the extension you get.

By the way, .info's and .co's rank just as well as .com/.org/.net domains. I've personally gotten a cheap .info domain to #1 in Google in just a few weeks.
If an exact match domain is not available, what you can do is add a letter or word to the end of it. So if yourkeyword.com is taken, you can use something like...
  • yourkeywordx.com
  • yourkeywords.com
  • yourkeywordtips.com
  • yourkeywordblog.com
  • and so on...
I highly recommend you get an exact match domain or as close to one as possible.

Where to Buy Your Domain
If you're registering a fresh domain, I recommend Name Cheap. They're checkout process is fast and easy, unlike Godaddy, who tries to upsell you a billion times. Name Cheap also offers free privacy protection.
You can usually find a Name Cheap coupon code here and save a few bucks.

Step 3: Get Hosting
To make passive income with Adsense, you need to host your website on a reliable server. This way, visitors can access it 24/7, and you'll get paid around the clock.
Getting the right web host is important because any down time equals a loss of profits.

That's why I recommend Host Gator, which is the most reliable web hosting service I've ever tried.

Their baby plan allows you to host unlimited websites, starting at under $10 per month.

Step 4: Install WordPress
Once you set up for hosting, you need to start designing your site and uploading content to it. Hands down, the easiest way to do this is use WordPress, a free blogging platform. The great thing about WordPress is that you don't need to have any experience in programming or web design and still create a beautiful and profitable passive income website.

To install WordPress, simply go into your Host Gator cPanel and select Fantastic Deluxe. Follow the installation instructions to get WordPress set up on your domain. After that, configure your settings, themes, plugins and pages (we'll talk about this in the next step).

If you're going to make multiple websites, it's a good idea to get a backup plugin so you can easily duplicate your sites. I recommend Backup Creator by Robert Plank (there's a WSO on here) or Backup Buddy.

Step 5: Optimizing Your Blog
Themes
One of the best theme I've used to earn money with Adsense sites is the CTR theme (not sure if WSO is still open). All you have to do is insert your Adsense publisher ID and it will automatically insert ads in your posts. This theme is optimized for click throughs as it uses pictures in specific locations to draw the reader's eyes towards the ads. I've seen very high click-through-rates with this theme.

There are also a few other free AdSense themes available. Here is a list of the best free Adsense themes.

Settings
These settings (especially permalinks) will optimize your Adsense site for performance as well as the search engines.
  • Title and Description - Be sure to include your main keyword in your site's title and description
  • Permalinks - use a custom structure that includes your post title. If you have a bigger site and are using categories, you can do /%category%/%postname%/ but usually /%postname%/ is fine.
It's crucial that you set up the correct permalink structure!

Plugins
I recommend the following WordPress plugins when building your passive income Adsense blog.
  • Akismet - spam blocker
  • All in One SEO - manages your on page SEO for better rankings
  • Contact Form 7 - to receive emails
  • WP Insert - to insert Adsense ads anywhere on your page. Also to manage your privacy policy
  • Clicky Analytics - To analyze your site's traffic and visitor stats. This is way better than Google analytics in my opinion. You need to sign up for an account at www.getclicky.com.
  • XML Site maps - creates a sitemap so all your pages get indexed in Google
  • W3 Total Cache - too speed up your site
  • Broken Links Checker - to notify you of broken links on your website
  • WP Smush it - to speed up your site by reducing images
  • Secure WordPress - to prevent hackers from accessing your site
  • Pretty Links Lite - allows you to cloak and track affiliate links
  • SEO Pressor - On page SEO helper (paid plugin)
Step 6: Add Content
The next step in this guide is to add content to your blog. Again, there are two ways you can do this.

The first way is to create your content manually and write everything yourself. Each article should be about a keyword on your list and at least 500 words long. Include pictures and videos if you can.

On Page SEO Basics
There are a few guidelines to follow if you want to optimize your on-page SEO and get your page ranked easier. You don't have follow all of these guidelines, but keep in mind that the more, you do, the better it will rank.

If it's unnatural to do all of the things on this checklist, then just do the bare minimum: You want to include your keyword in the title, first sentence and last sentence. You'll also want to include it in the heading and body without overtly "keyword stuffing".

That said, here's what you do if you want a perfectly optimized article for SEO:
  • Keyword density of 2% to 4%
  • Keyword in title
  • Keyword in h1, h2 and h3
  • Keyword in italics, bold and underline
  • Keyword in first and last sentence
  • Keyword in Alt image tag
  • Link out to authority site (like Wikipedia article or any other site related to your niche that has good page rank. Also, don't "nofollow" these links. If you don't know what that means, don't worry about it)
  • ink to other blog posts on your site using THAT keyword as anchor text
While normally I would recommend creating "killer content" and having articles that really over-delivers and gets your visitors hooked on your stuff, with Adsense sites, our goal is for the visitor to click on our ads and leave our site.

So a really well written article will actually delay or prevent that completely.
So in this case, I do recommend outsourcing your articles to a cheap writing service if you do not have the time to create them yourself. Some article writing services that I personally use include...
Getting Your Website Indexed
Once you have your first article posted, you want to get your website indexed in the search engines. The easiest way to do this to use this quick index tool and enter in your website information.

To check whether your website has been indexed in Google, simply type in "http://www.yourdomain.com" into the search box and see if your website comes up. Using the bulk ping tool above, you should get indexed within 24 hours.

Adding More Content
I recommend adding a new, unique article every few days for 2 weeks until you have 5-10 articles on your blog. You can do this all at once and schedule them to automatically post (be sure to change the daily posting time for each one), or you can post them as you go.

Step 7: Getting Your Website to Number 1 on Google
Next, we're going to be focusing on getting our site to the top of Google by building quality backlinks to our site.

Important- Before You Build A Single Backlink
I recommend you wait at least 2 weeks before building a single backlink. I've noticed that I tend to rank higher (and have my rankings stick) more easily if I wait a few weeks. Right after your site goes live, Google has to decide how to categorize you (which is why it's important to link out to authority sites).

If you build links right away, you may get ranked quickly, but your rankings will almost always drop right away (my theory is that Google categorizes you as a trending topic/news story when you get links too quickly, which is why you rank fast, then drop).

I've noticed this over and over again in my websites so I always wait 2-3 weeks before building a single backlink.

Option 1: Building Backlinks Manually (Requires Your Time, No Money)
When building these links, it's important to vary your anchor text. So if your main keyword is "dog training tips", you also want to include keywords like, "tips to train your dog", even if you're not targeting them because this is a lot more natural and Google's smart enough to understand that they're related. Also have naked links (anchor text is your URL).

Another good practice that I've seen great results with is to build backlinks to both your main domain, Domain For Sale as well as your inner pages www.yourkeyword.com/keyword-2.

These are the best ways to build manual backlinks to your website if you don't have the money to outsource yet.

Article Submissions - After each new blog post has been indexed, use that post and submit to as many of these as you can...
Web 2.0 Posts - Write new articles and post them on the following sites. Add new articles to the same account.
Social Bookmarking - I like using a free service called SocialAdr to create social bookmarks. What's cool about this service is that other people will submit your social bookmarks to their accounts, essentially building backlinks for you.

Forum Profiles - These profiles on high PR forums that link to your website. I recommend using Angela's high PR profile backlink packages because they aren't being spammed to death.

Blog Networks - Blog networks allow you get backlinks from private, high PR, aged blogs. My favorite blog network that I've seen amazing results with is Build My Rank, which has a 10 link free trial (sometimes, that's all you need to get ranked on page 1).

Option 2: Building Backlinks with Paid Tools (Requires Time And Money)
If you have the budget, there are some tools I recommend to make your life a whole lot easier. Remember that a fool with a tool is still a fool.

These tools will not magically get your number 1 rankings. There's imply there to automate your link building so you have less work. These tools will take a while to learn, but well worth the time invested, since you can use them for as many other websites as you want. This is the most bang-for-your buck way to make money with Adsense.

These are 2 previous tools that I mentioned previously that have paid options. I personally use and highly recommend both of these.

Social Adr - The paid option is $40 per month and you to build over 1600 backlinks per month without having to submit links for other people.

Build My Rank - The paid option starts off at $59 per month and lets you build unlimited links to 5 different domains that you own. This is the most bang for your buck link building tool in my opinion since many of these blogs have PR 4 and up.
By the way, Build my Rank is amazing for ranking long tail keywords (keywords longer than 3 words).

Here the two other tools I recommend:

Article Marketing Robot ($97) - Automatically submits articles to thousands of directories. You'll need to upload a new article list. The one it comes with is pretty crappy.

Bookmarking Demon ($147) - Automatically submits social bookmarks to hundreds of different accounts.

I've used a lot of SEO tools and services and these are the ones that have worked best for me.

Option 3: Building Backlinks With Backlink Packages (Requires Money, No Time)

If you have the budget, don't have time or just lazy, you can outsource your entire backlinking campaign. I have only tried one complete done-for-you SEO service that I saw great results with.

I'm not going to mention the service here because IDK if that's allowed on Warrior Forum. View this original guide at the bottom of this post if you want to know.
By the way, all of these link building techniques I mention can be outsourced on Fiverr for a few bucks. You'll find the specific gigs in the original guide.

Step 8: Flip for Profit (Optional)
Once your website is making you a solid monthly income, you can easily sell it on Flippa for up to many times it's monthly revenue. It's important to provide proof of income and traffic when you sell your site, so be sure to be keeping track of your traffic with Google or Clicky Analytics.

Some people have an entire business based on creating Adsense sites using a proven system and flipping it down the line for a big sum. Adsense sites on Flippa can sell for up to 15-25 times the monthly revenue.

FAQ

Q. I don't have an Adsense account. How do I get one?
A. Approved Adsense accounts are harder and harder to get nowadays, especially if you live in Asian countries (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, etc.) But if your blog has quality content (so you may want to write the first few blog posts yourself), you should have no problem getting your account approved after applying for one.

Q. I got banned from AdSense. How can I get another account.
A. If you're banned from AdSense, there are 2 things you can do. The first is to create an account for a family member and use that one. There are also services out there that create Adsense accounts for you. I don't know if I'm allowed to mention any specific names here. View the original guide at the bottom if you want to know.

Q. Can I combine Adsense with other affiliate networks?
A. Sure, you can combine Adsense with other networks such as Amazon, Clickbank, Ebay and so on. One of my favorites is an Amazon/Adsense hybrid website.

Thanks for reading! I hope this guide on how to make money with Adsense helped and I wish you tremendous success.

The EXACT MATCH DOMAIN advice, and then if its not available, buy EMDx.com
    to me thats absurd advice

if thats the case then EMD means nothing since adding words or numbers or x to it, is NOT an EMD

I also disagree with the BUY AN AGED DOMAIN thing
for one thing they are very expensive.
2nd whats the chances an aged domain has YOUR keywords in it? Its really getting to be odd some of the advice offered by the OP

domain age IMO after searching about 10k kws on Market Samurai, has very little to do with ranking factor. There is a domain 13 yrs old that ranks for about 100 kws , 1,2 in my niche

this site is ROUTINELY outranked by NEW DOMAINS LESS THAN ONE YEAR OLD, I see it every day

why are they so easily outranked? they have very crappy backlinks, as in really crappy
and the pages that are getting outranked are PR5 and on a 13 yr old domain , by NEW DOMAINS

that tells you how unpowerful and insignificant site age is

I agree completely. EMDs are getting to be a pretty lame decision. Do you really want to build a website for 'every' damn keyword you want to rank for?

Plus as you said "exactmatch.com" and "exactmatchnow.com" are NOT both EMDs.

You rank quicker with an aged domain. AND if you do a site:domain.com in google you can see what pages the domain had before and recreate them with your content. If it has not been to long the links are still there. Saves time.
Saves a few months. And they are NOT all expensive. I usually pay about $12 plus the fee which brings it to $20.

I would also like to add. To use Kontera as a contextual link. You will get more monetization (and more money) in your blog other than Adsense.

They work wonderfully together, never had problems. Remember to always diversify your monetization methods.

Kontera pays pennies. Rather one should try infolinks. Its far better.

Has Kontera gotten any better? I used them last year and they paid nearly nothing for clicks versus adsense. I was getting like .01 - .09 cents per click or something like that. I quit using them after about 90 days. I figured it was better to just hope for an adsense click rather than to make such little profits on my exit traffic.

Hi outwest. I thought the same in the beginning but when I tried putting "x" in addition to some of my EMDs--it works. You gotta try it and actually prove it to yourself.

I noticed that when I do research in market samurai, if google sees those words in the domain, you can still rank high.

Same as: watchmoviesonline.com - "watch movies online"

They can also rank high in the "watch movie online" (without the 'S'). Do your onpage seo right and your off-page seo backlinks and you'll be fine with an "x" at the end.

Just my 2 cents Ingat po!

Yes but it depends totally on the competition
I can rank high with Horsefeed.com for watchmoviesonline kws if the comptition is very low and I have good backlinks

why did George Bush site rank number one for "miserable failure" with that word not appearing anywhere on the site? Backlinks

Exactly! This is why I love to see KW's which have heavy weight sites like Wikipedia, YouTube, About.com and so on in the top ranking positions. A lot of people new to the IM game see these websites and run for the hills. I see them and attack them with a vengeance simply because the sites are not optimized for the KW's their ranking for and are solely there based on the weight of there backlinks which a lot of times is not targeted at the page but the website on a whole. With excellent onsite SEO and backlinking there is a very high chance I will outrank them.

I agree with everything, except allintitle and allinurl section. This is totally irrelevant.
When finding concurent web sites, all that it counts is a top 10 pages. So, when you find your kw combination, just type it in Google. Then, with seoquake addon for firefox, check top 10 PR, backlinks and everything. If the top 10 pages are weak, you can easily get to first place in Google in a few months.

Are keywords even of great importance anymore? Two of my sites are Indexed on Googles 1st page for specific keywords. I didnt even have keywords filed in for the first few months I was just building backlinks, using anchor text as keywords and then pinging the sites every 4 days. I will still use keywords of course but I have to wonder if they pull very much ranking power with google??

I think we're on the same boat here. All I'm saying is putting an "x" in the end would still be an EMD considering you have the keywords you wanna rank for in it. With that in mind, it would be easier to go for that keyword cause you have it in the domain (on-page seo wise).

Ofcourse you have to consider your competition and such. The way I think of this is you can rank for any keywords you want, you just have to know how much money you can afford, effort, and resources you can put into building quality backlinks and smartly beating your competition.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for the off-page seo backlinks. Yes, George Bush site ranked for "miserable failure" because of millions of backlinks. But lets get back to the reality. I wouldn't think you would put all that effort to building massive backlinks to your horsefeed.com blog to rank for watchmoviesonline, hoping for penny adsense clicks.

lol you're really on me aren't you. Like what I and hustlinsmoke said..you gotta try it for yourself first before shooting Tony W's idea down.

Try to go for nice keyword with high search volume, low competition, and commercial intent...and put an "x" at the end of it (if the .com, .org, or .net is not available).

I've been having a lot of successes (ie. profit) using this method.

It hurts me to see that .com, .net, and .org are not available for a specific keyword..and they're not even ranking in it. Even with low competition! So I go for this same keyword with an "x" at the end, a little bit more backlinks...and I'm ranking for that keyword.

But honestly, feel free to keep looking for an EMD with .com, .net, and .org available, good luck with it.

My best advise to you is to atleast try this method and you will most likely thank us later

I said "good luck with it" because I know that there's lots of EMDs still up for grabs, just a little bit harder to find.

You dont look for emds...Then I dont understand why you commented and criticized about putting x at the end of EMD when you don't actively go for EMDs..

The majority of searches you perform on the internet will not return an EMD in first place. Just some food for thought.

Plus a subdomain/subdirectory or page slug could serve the same function.

Agreed. These days EMDs are not ranking all that high in Google UNLESS they have good back-links.

When using Google KW tool, ignore the competition column.

That is one of the longest posts I have ever seen here.

I must say, its pretty complete other than the fact that, as already stated, EMDs aren't as powerful as they used to be.

Matt Cutts stated in a video that they may turn down the effectiveness of them because people were complaining.

It was in his "How To Dominate The Viagra Niche Video" LOL! Just kidding Matt.

Yes I teach to put a number at the end or the beginning of the domain name, It does work and you shouldn't come here telling someone there idea is lame if you haven't tried it.

Google recognizes what it can read not what is written.

There's something I don't understand about building manual backlinks (and I'm not just talking about this post). When you build a new Squidoo lens or get an article going on Ezinearticles.com, even once they're indexed they're pagerank 0, so they don't really pass any value. Maybe it would in a very non-competitive niche, but from what I understand this is why people are using link-wheels. You build ezines and web 2.0 properties with proper anchor texts pointing to your site, then do massive article distributions and social bookmarking campaigns pointing to those sites, passing along the link juice while acting as a shield against anything potentially fishy/spammy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 100 PR0 Squidoos or Ezines isn't going to do anything for your rankings.

Adsense could be where people make money this year, if they understand the fundamentals as outlined above. This is fantastic teaching for newbies and comes at a great time for anyone aspiring to make money online.

It is okay to be objective about something and give your opinion but in the spirit of giving as the Op has, I'm sure we can pick out what we feel is sound advice and disagree agreeably on what we don't.

Great post, thanks very much to everyone who contributed.

Overall, this is a solid and informative post. Although I knew most of what has been mentioned here and apply some of it to my current process, this will definitely serve as a decent guide to follow for most of the folks who are new or are just starting to get their feet wet with building out website not only for Adsense, but other monetization platforms as well.

As far as the EMD discussion going on, I'm a fan of going after domains with the keyword phrase in them, rather than an exact match. From my experience in going this route, it has helped add some weight to my overall rankings. I also try to go after keyword phrases that I can build on as well (such as "how to start a business" rather than "how to start a business in your basement with only $100"). Makes it easier to expand content on the site and go after more related keywords if it shows promise after the initial build.

In the end, building the site out completely and writing/adding content is a breeze. The keyword research and competition analysis is crucial though. If you screw up on either one, your earnings will be sub-par when pinned up against the effort you put in.

Something I read kind of confused me. Could somebody explain this to me?

"After each new blog post has been indexed, use that post and submit to as many of these as you can"

So it's perfectly fine to use that same article to submit to article directories without worrying about duplicate content?

Or did he mean that you should spin them first.

Solid guide but I would be carefull with over doing your onpage seo. Title / url / h1 / bold or underlined is more then sufficient and ofcourse mention it at least twice in your content. Really don't overdo it, it's just not nescessary and it looks stupid with certain longtails. Alt img and html comment can never hurt.

Instead of BMR I would go for high PR society, there average PR is higher and you can post well spun content. Creating 150 word unique posts is much too time consuming to get a link that moves to an innerpage within 1 or 2 days anyway.

Furthermore I would go for an authority site instead of a EMD. Pages are really not that much harder to rank if at all and it saves you a lot of domain costs each year. Once your authority site gets bigger it gets even easyer to rank cause of the help from internal linking and you won't be bothered with the disadvantages of a brand new domain each time (as in more stable rankings, less Google dance).

I don't disagree with that but with how much aged domains cost these days, IMO you're better off buying a new domain and putting that money towards SEO. One thing people don't think about, because they're not thinking long-term, is the ability to sell links. Even if you don't hit a homerun with AdSense, do some testing buying high PR links to build your PR. If AdSense doesn't work, sell links from it in the niche that it's in. Less "failure" this way.

    Tony,
Thanks for putting this guide to together. You could have easily turned this into a WSO and charged people for the info contained here! IMO, people new to SEO can use this info and skip the numerous Adsense guides in the WSO section.

I just wanted to add that I have seen very good results with the Authority Link Network (similar to Build My Rank). There are several providers that offer monthly drip services to ALN here and on other forums. ALN has been a very powerful tool in my SEO arsenal.

One thing I might have missed in your guide is the issue of anchor text over-optimization. If you use the same anchor text too frequently Google may devalue those links. Try to vary your low value backlinks and include anchor text like click here, website, link, this, cool site, www.url.com, etc. This makes your backlink profile look more natural.

This is utter nonsense! I've ranked number 1 in the SERPS for 4 different niche sites in under 2 months each using the SAME anchor text words on every link in the specific niche sites. You see, there is no way Google can filter my pages/posts for over optimization as it goes completely against their ethos when the site is built in the correct way and the pages/posts are written in a certain way. My sites have NEVER been penalized and they never will Google has no choice but to accept them the way are designed and built otherwise they would be banning Amazon, Microsoft, Apple and even Google themselves because they all do the same little ranking methods I do.

So please stop kidding yourselves that anchor text keywords all using the same anchor text will incur a penalty or filter... It's plain DUFF advice.

You are both right, and you are both wrong. Let me explain.

If you are building a 5 page micro site, you most likely have the following pages.
Home (Your domain), About Us, Contact Us, Privacy Policy, and a Disclosure page. The ONLY page you want to rank for is your homepage, and so you will want an EMD in order to get the best results when ranking.

If you are building an Authority website, you are targeting more than 1 keyword. When you try to rank for a keyword, you want the keyword in the Meta Title, Meta Description, and in the Web Address. This could be brandingterm.extension/yourkeyword as long as you set your Meta's and have the Keyword in the URL.

We all know that more traffic means more chances for a profit. The question is, why would you want to spend $2-$12 (depending on extension) for each keyword, when you can brand yourself with a single website, and easily rank for as many keywords as you want.
Having a single website also means you are spending less time on On-Site SEO, as you don't have to spend all that extra time installing WordPress, Themes, Plugins, and setting up all the other On-Site SEO for each website. You can easily set everything up for a single website, and easily go from page to page.

Really, This is great information about Adsense. Also, It is merely an advertiser program where you host ads on your website, and get paid for each time someone clicks on your ad. Now don't get confused by this. Their support system is very friendly which helps you to clear your doubts in a simple and effective manner.

October 13th of last year was a double whammy day for most legitimate bloggers...

... Google slapped us and reduced our traffic by 2/3.

And they significantly slashed our AdSense payout by up to 1/50th the amount.

Last year was my best year ever with AdSense - made a record $15.00 click one time, too.

But over the last 30 days, the same traffic is averaging me $.0501 a click (that's about a nickel a click).

          Totally awful.

Now I could get mad at Google for pulling the rug out from beneath us. But that's there choice.

As a result, I'm placing private ads on my site. And judging from a test I did, I should have switched a long time ago.

I'm getting the software from here:

Maybe it was not approved yet, or sometimes it will take 4 days till you see your adsense ads running or sometimes like mine is 1 day since it was approved. I keep banned by adsense google for invalid clicks which I really dont know where it came from. Maybe it was from those website that I get free traffic . Thanks that I have found a technique where I can have an approved adsense account in 1 day.

Anyone out there who has troubled like this just PM me and I will teach you how to get an adsense account for 1 day.

For the person who asked about including Adsense on Blogger blogs: yes, Blogger allows it and actually encourages Adsense on their blogs (they are so much better than Wordpress.com). The only problem I've had is making sure that my Adsense was properly encoded when I put it inside of my Blogger theme template. Read more here: Setting up Blogger: How to Encode Adsense in a BlogSpot Template. The easiest way is to actually use widgets to input your Adsense, in which case you won't need to encode the Adsense javascript first.

You ALWAYS need to split test with Adsense ... I have not found the silver bullet Adsense placement yet.

BUT!!! ... I have found 300x250 or 336x280 ads (text, no images), on the right side of the article right underneath the title to be the best place more than any other placement ... BUT!!! like I said, it isn't always the best placement.

Good! Split testing is the key, particularly with the new adsense interface, I've spent a month or two testing ads formats before settling down on my current ad format. Try each for at least 5 days at a time so as to get meaningful results as a one day does not always give representative results.

    • Be sure you use some ad in the very bottom of every page. That way you get clicks from people that want to leave, and many of them leave by clicking an ad.

I have found that the best place for the average website is around the other links on your site in the same colour and format. Many users who are not internet savy think these are your links and click on them or they see a link for what they want and click.
It is not wrong to do this.
I have got some money from doing this.

Doesn't matter what you do, you have been banned and the chances of getting your account back is very slim to none. Changing hosting will do nothing and unless you have set your new account under a different company I think your chances are slim that they don't ban your new account also.....

I don't think web hosting changing will work, because Adsense is not about that. Once you have created an account for Adsense and was banned (even changing the web hosting), it still doesn't work. The only thing you can do right now is to register a new Adsense account for a different company (not the same account or name that you have).

If your account has been banned, you will not be able to register a new one under the same name. Here a few things that you will have to do:

      1) Open a account under another person (preferably a spouse, etc)
      2) Use seohosting for your Adsense sites so that each site is hosted on a separate IP address.
      3) Get a new internet too. (My internet changes IP addresses automatically so it´s not a big deal.. but can be a problem when you access your Adsense account with the same IP that has been banned by Adsense).

.....And in doing so you will be breaking the original adsense T&C's that you signed upto which say you cannot re-apply once banned. So basically in re-applying you are breaking the legal agreement you first signed up to and hence that could be classed as attempted fraud - last time I looked that carried jail time worldwide.

Secondly they ban you and the sites, so you will not simply be able to get a new account and put up new code on the sites, all you will get is blank spaces showing, and their bots will spot this and ban your second account faster than you can blink.

Thirdly whatever way around things you try and think of they will already have thought of it. I know from a friend they employ over a 100 people in the UK in anti-fraud alone.

Unless you change your ways, you will most likely get a second ban.
Of course you could change your name, get a new bank account, and move house and get a new ip address, because they almost certainly are tracking all these details on banned accounts.

Does anyone have any examples of adsense sites they did? My question is, say you have your main keyword Office Furniture. Now say you found 7 low competition nicely searched keywords that are sub keywords to your main one such as Bookcase, Computer Desk, Computer Chair, etc.

Is it better to create those 7 keywords as pages on your site or do them as post? I know OP mentioned each one being like 500+ words so does that mean pages would be better to do then? And each page would be like officefurniture.com/bookcase and on the page you would have a 500+ word article with your keywords in it?

    Thanks!

You have to test and optimize. Test one thing at a time. Start with something like link color. Let it run a week, see if it goes up or down. Up, leave it, down, change it back. Then try ad placement, etc. There 100s of options to test.

The important thing is to do 1 at a time, establish a control and then pick another factor.

Also, if your visitors are visiting a lot of pages, your adsensee CTR will be low, but your visitor conversion (which is all that matters) might be perfectly fine.

Also, are you in a niche that serves a lot of ads? Or are the ads even relevant to your site?

One of the blogs I have is done out of pure passion about one of the subjects i know; no ads on that site cater to the readers and in one month that site makes about 50 cents to a dollar.

I think is a bit difficult to provide specific help, other than say, play with ad placement, test location of ads, see which ads are getting the most clicks and try to place ads in the same location, etc.

          TEST TEST TEST.

I make about 30 a day when I hit that number of page views.

It could be the niche that you are in. If people are there for the information only then your click trough will be low.

Your CPC might not be that high.

You could be placing your ads in the wrong spot.

Sounds to me you're banned. If this is the case then it's very rare to get reinstated again.

Try Amazon. I hear people who get banned from Adense, try Amazon and end up doing better than they did with Adsense.

Google Adsense has always been one of the easiest ways to make money from your blog or website. Once your website is set up and ranking, you’ll enjoy a steady flow of visitors, a percentage of whom will click on your ads, resulting in money in the your bank account.

It worked in 2005 and still works in 2012, although some things have changed. If you follow these steps I’m about to show you, you can make an absolute killing off of Google Adsense.

Before finding the exact keywords you’re going to use, you need some niche ideas. Places you can use to brainstorm ideas include…
How to Find A Profitable Keyword
There are two ways you can go about actually finding keywords.

First, you can do keyword research yourself, manually. The most common tool for this is the Google Keyword Tool. It’s completely free and I still use it for my keyword research, even though I have a bunch of fancy paid software too.

If you’re a total newbie, you can still benefit from these tools. Just make sure to go through the tutorials first.

You want one keyword you want your main domain to rank for in Google. This should be the keyword with the most searches. Once you find that, you want a list of related keywords to target individual pages for.

For example, if your main keyword is “Christmas gifts” your secondary keywords may be “Christmas gifts for mom”, “Christmas gifts for boys”, “Christmas gifts for girls” and so on.

To find these numbers, simply type into Google search, allintitle: “your keyword in quotes” and see how many results come up.

Also be sure to check the stats of the top 10 ranking websites with market samurai or some other keyword tool. If a lot of sites have low page rank, domain age and backlinks to page, then the KW is easier to rank for.

Note that when using Google KW tool, ignore the competition column. It doesn’t tell you about your actual competition in the search results, but how many advertisers are bidding on the keyword in Adwords. So you actually want high “competition” because that means the niche is profitable.

    Step Two: Buy Your Domain
Once you find a profitable keyword, you need a domain to host your website on. Again, there are 2 ways to go about this.

    Aged Domain – Faster Rankings
The first option is to pay for an aged domain, a domain that’s been around for a while. Google loves these domains, and you can get traffic to these faster. These domains usually cost $11 and up.

A few places where you can buy aged domains include

    • Digital Point Domain Sell/Buy/Trade (free)– This is a forum where people sell domains they no longer want. You can find a lot of gems in this thread.
    • Godaddy Domain Auctions ($4.70 per year) – Here, you can bid and buy domains that are expiring. You can search through domains by keywords, age and some other factors. You can’t search by page rank though.
    • Register Compass ($37 per month) or Fresh Drop ($99/month) – These are paid services that lets you browse through and search for aged domains. The best part is you can search by page rank, backlinks, age, and other important ranking metrics.
Brand New Domain – Exact Match Keyword
The downside to an aged domain is that you don’t get to choose what the domain name is. While an aged domain’s existing backlinks, PR and age more than makes up for this, having your keyword in your domain name will give you a nice ranking boost and will make your life a whole lot easier.

The best type of domain to get is an exact match domain. This means is essentiallywww.yourkeyword.com/org/net/info/co.

Register a new domain costs anywhere from $2.99 – $24.99 per year, depending on the extension you get.

By the way, .info’s and .co’s rank just as well as .com/.org/.net domains. I’ve personally gotten a cheap .info domain to #1 in Google in just a few weeks.
If an exact match domain is not available, what you can do is add a letter or word to the end of it. So if yourkeyword.com is taken, you can use something like…
    • yourkeywordx.com
    • yourkeywords.com
    • yourkeywordtips.com
    • yourkeywordblog.com
    • and so on…
I highly recommend you get an exact match domain or as close to one as possible.

    Where to Buy Your Domain

If you’re registering a fresh domain, I recommend Name Cheap. They’re checkout process is fast and easy, unlike Godaddy, who tries to upsell you a billion times. Name Cheap also offers free privacy protection.
You can usually find a Name Cheap coupon code here and save a few bucks.

    Step 3: Get Hosting

To make passive income with Adsense, you need to host your website on a reliable server. This way, visitors can access it 24/7, and you’ll get paid around the clock.
Getting the right web host is important because any down time equals a loss of profits.

That’s why I recommend Host Gator, which is the most reliable web hosting service I’ve ever tried.

Their baby plan allows you to host unlimited websites, starting at under $10 per month.

    Step 4: Install WordPress
Once you set up for hosting, you need to start designing your site and uploading content to it. Hands down, the easiest way to do this is use WordPress, a free blogging platform. The great thing about WordPress is that you don’t need to have any experience in programming or web design and still create a beautiful and profitable passive income website.

To install WordPress, simply go into your Host Gator cPanel and select Fantastic Deluxe. Follow the installation instructions to get WordPress set up on your domain. After that, configure your settings, themes, plugins and pages (we’ll talk about this in the next step).

If you’re going to make multiple websites, it’s a good idea to get a backup plugin so you can easily duplicate your sites. I recommend Backup Creator by Robert Plank (there’s a WSO on here) or Backup Buddy.

    Step 5: Optimizing Your Blog
    Themes
One of the best theme I’ve used to earn money with Adsense sites is the CTR theme (not sure if WSO is still open). All you have to do is insert your Adsense publisher ID and it will automatically insert ads in your posts. This theme is optimized for click throughs as it uses pictures in specific locations to draw the reader’s eyes towards the ads. I’ve seen very high click-through-rates with this theme.

There are also a few other free AdSense themes available. Here is a list of the best free Adsense themes.

    Settings
These settings (especially permalinks) will optimize your Adsense site for performance as well as the search engines.
    • Title and Description – Be sure to include your main keyword in your site’s title and description
    • Permalinks – use a custom structure that includes your post title. If you have a bigger site and are using categories, you can do /%category%/%postname%/ but usually /%postname%/ is fine.
It’s crucial that you set up the correct permalink structure!

    Plugins
I recommend the following WordPress plugins when building your passive income Adsense blog.
    • Akismet – spam blocker
    • All in One SEO – manages your on page SEO for better rankings
    • Contact Form 7 – to receive emails
    • WP Insert – to insert Adsense ads anywhere on your page. Also to manage your privacy policy
    • Clicky Analytics – To analyze your site’s traffic and visitor stats. This is way better than Google analytics in my opinion. You need to sign up for an account at www.getclicky.com.
    • XML Site maps – creates a sitemap so all your pages get indexed in Google
    • W3 Total Cache – too speed up your site
    • Broken Links Checker – to notify you of broken links on your website
    • WP Smush it – to speed up your site by reducing images
    • Secure WordPress – to prevent hackers from accessing your site
    • Pretty Links Lite – allows you to cloak and track affiliate links
    • SEO Pressor - On page SEO helper (paid plugin)
    Step 6: Add Content
The next step in this guide is to add content to your blog. Again, there are two ways you can do this.

The first way is to create your content manually and write everything yourself. Each article should be about a keyword on your list and at least 500 words long. Include pictures and videos if you can.

    On Page SEO Basics
There are a few guidelines to follow if you want to optimize your on-page SEO and get your page ranked easier. You don’t have follow all of these guidelines, but keep in mind that the more, you do, the better it will rank.

If it’s unnatural to do all of the things on this checklist, then just do the bare minimum: You want to include your keyword in the title, first sentence and last sentence. You’ll also want to include it in the heading and body without overtly “keyword stuffing”.

That said, here’s what you do if you want a perfectly optimized article for SEO:
    • Keyword density of 2% to 4%
    • Keyword in title
    • Keyword in h1, h2 and h3
    • Keyword in italics, bold and underline
    • Keyword in first and last sentence
    • Keyword in Alt image tag
    • Link out to authority site (like Wikipedia article or any other site related to your niche that has good page rank. Also, don’t “nofollow” these links. If you don’t know what that means, don’t worry about it)
    • ink to other blog posts on your site using THAT keyword as anchor text
While normally I would recommend creating “killer content” and having articles that really over-delivers and gets your visitors hooked on your stuff, with Adsense sites, our goal is for the visitor to click on our ads and leave our site.

So a really well written article will actually delay or prevent that completely.
So in this case, I do recommend outsourcing your articles to a cheap writing service if you do not have the time to create them yourself. Some article writing services that I personally use include…
    Getting Your Website Indexed
Once you have your first article posted, you want to get your website indexed in the search engines. The easiest way to do this to use this quick index tool and enter in your website information.

To check whether your website has been indexed in Google, simply type in “http://www.yourdomain.com” into the search box and see if your website comes up.

Next, we’re going to be focusing on getting our site to the top of Google by building quality backlinks to our site.

Important- Before You Build A Single Backlink
I recommend you wait at least 2 weeks before building a single backlink. I’ve noticed that I tend to rank higher (and have my rankings stick) more easily if I wait a few weeks. Right after your site goes live, Google has to decide how to categorize you (which is why it’s important to link out to authority sites).

If you build links right away, you may get ranked quickly, but your rankings will almost always drop right away (my theory is that Google categorizes you as a trending topic/news story when you get links too quickly, which is why you rank fast, then drop).

I’ve noticed this over and over again in my websites so I always wait 2-3 weeks before building a single backlink.

Option 1: Building Backlinks Manually (Requires Your Time, No Money)
When building these links, it’s important to vary your anchor text. So if your main keyword is “dog training tips”, you also want to include keywords like, “tips to train your dog”, even if you’re not targeting them because this is a lot more natural and Google’s smart enough to understand that they’re related. Also have naked links (anchor text is your URL).

Another good practice that I’ve seen great results with is to build backlinks to both your main domain, Domain For Sale as well as your inner pages www.yourkeyword.com/keyword-2.

These are the best ways to build manual backlinks to your website if you don’t have the money to outsource yet.

Article Submissions – After each new blog post has been indexed, use that post and submit to as many of these as you can…
Web 2.0 Posts – Write new articles and post them on the following sites. Add new articles to the same account.
Social Bookmarking – I like using a free service called SocialAdr to create social bookmarks. What’s cool about this service is that other people will submit your social bookmarks to their accounts, essentially building backlinks for you.

Forum Profiles – These profiles on high PR forums that link to your website. I recommend using Angela’s high PR profile backlink packages because they aren’t being spammed to death.

Blog Networks – Blog networks allow you get backlinks from private, high PR, aged blogs. My favorite blog network that I’ve seen amazing results with is Build My Rank, which has a 10 link free trial (sometimes, that’s all you need to get ranked on page 1).

Option 2: Building Backlinks with Paid Tools (Requires Time And Money)
If you have the budget, there are some tools I recommend to make your life a whole lot easier. Remember that a fool with a tool is still a fool.

These tools will not magically get your number 1 rankings. There’s imply there to automate your link building so you have less work. These tools will take a while to learn, but well worth the time invested, since you can use them for as many other websites as you want. This is the most bang-for-your buck way to make money with Adsense.

These are 2 previous tools that I mentioned previously that have paid options. I personally use and highly recommend both of these.

Social Adr – The paid option is $40 per month and you to build over 1600 backlinks per month without having to submit links for other people.

Build My Rank – The paid option starts off at $59 per month and lets you build unlimited links to 5 different domains that you own. This is the most bang for your buck link building tool in my opinion since many of these blogs have PR 4 and up.
By the way, Build my Rank is amazing for ranking long tail keywords (keywords longer than 3 words).

Here the two other tools I recommend:

Article Marketing Robot ($97) – Automatically submits articles to thousands of directories. You’ll need to upload a new article list. The one it comes with is pretty crappy.

Bookmarking Demon ($147) – Automatically submits social bookmarks to hundreds of different accounts.

I’ve used a lot of SEO tools and services and these are the ones that have worked best for me.

Option 3: Building Backlinks With Backlink Packages (Requires Money, No Time)

If you have the budget, don’t have time or just lazy, you can outsource your entire backlinking campaign. I have only tried one complete done-for-you SEO service that I saw great results with.

I’m not going to mention the service here because IDK if that’s allowed on Warrior Forum. View this original guide at the bottom of this post if you want to know.
By the way, all of these link building techniques I mention can be outsourced on Fiverr for a few bucks. You’ll find the specific gigs in the original guide.

Step 8: Flip for Profit (Optional)
Once your website is making you a solid monthly income, you can easily sell it on Flippa for up to many times it’s monthly revenue. It’s important to provide proof of income and traffic when you sell your site, so be sure to be keeping track of your traffic with Google or Clicky Analytics.

Some people have an entire business based on creating Adsense sites using a proven system and flipping it down the line for a big sum. Adsense sites on Flippa can sell for up to 15-25 times the monthly revenue.

    FAQ

    Q. I don’t have an Adsense account.

    A. If you’re banned from AdSense, there are 2 things you can do. The first is to create an account for a family member and use that one. There are also services out there that create Adsense accounts for you. I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention any specific names here.

    Hi guys,

If your adsense account had been banned by google, you cannot use the service of adsenseg-dot-com to create another new adsense account again. I have tried it today by making payment of $25 and after that I didn't receive anything including their bonus of adsense secrets e-book, also I was not redirected to their form to fill in the adsense information data, so I had to click the link manually from their site to get and fill in the form.

But in my email I hadn't received any confirmation email or any bonus as promised by the owner, then finally I contacted the owner/seller via Paypal resolution center and also via email directly and fill in the contact form. And after few minutes, I got the notification email from Paypal that the seller had refunded my payment without I ever received any explanation or anything from them, so I know that they can't process or have failed to create any new adsense account again with their service.

I live in Indonesia, and I don't know if you live in another countries then you will get the same result with me after trying to use the service of adsenseg-dot-com, or they have difficulties to create any adsense account again after the Google Panda update so this thing has caused they are out of business and their system didn't work at all.

I write this news to you guys based on my experience today so that all of you can know it before you trying it yourself.

    Regards,
    Roy

If you have Adsense on your website or blog I hope you're not promoting a product or service because you're creating competition for yourself and once those people leave they'll never come back. Most experienced marketers that are making mid-high 5 figures or better will tell you that there is very little reward in Adsense. You know that it takes a lot to get someone to your website, blog, or affiliate page and now that they are finally there you've put yourself in competition with someone else on your home turf. And the crazy part about it is that you did it on purpose!

Google loves you because you are providing their users with quality relevant content and there paying you pennies while advertisors are paying them millions for your hard earned traffic that you let slip away. Stop walking over the dollars to pickup the dimes. I tell my team to never give visitors a way to leave your page...especially not for another persons site. If they leave hopefully they signed up for something free or they're ordering. So if you're promoting a product I'd ask myself is Google paying you enough tp put your product potentially on the back burner in favor of someone else's. They will get the sale and you'll make $0.15! If you're not promoting a product I'd say Adsense makes sense if it's to make enough money to pay for hosting, something like that is cool. Just don't hurt yourself.

Adsense is a great starting point, but just to be on the safer side, start diversifying and make sites monetised via Clickbank and CPA as well. Always good to have a Plan B, and there's great potential in those as well.

Think about your visitor. What is their problem? What is their will? Are they willing to pull their credit card or click our ads?

    Just my 2cents

        Hi,

Just a quick question> I just had some adsense sites built for me, 2 are active and have ads on them. I received my first click and earned $2.06(Yea). However, I don't know where the click came from. How do you tell where your clicks are coming from?? I think I missed something when setting up Adsense maybe??

        Thanks,

Check your peformance reports. Then select country and you can see what country the click was from.

Great points there, but I doubt the way you find profitable keywords by using allintitle and allinurl. They are not really accurate and sometimes misleading. For newbies, I would suggest Brad's niche finder which is superb yet easy to use.

This really is an excellent post! Pretty awesome that you took the time to lay all the basic information that anyone would need to get started with adsense. Crazy how some people actually charge for this information.

If I was new and wanted to get involve with adsense this post would be all the information I would need to start seeing some success. Very well written and you kept it real simple!

I do agree with some people though, Google seems to be banning accounts left and right in the adsense program so definitely will suggest to focus on other forms of monetizing as well like affiliate marketing or amazon.

    Hello Warrior's (Tony W),

I have few question's related to Google Adsense:

but before i ask any of them first let me say THANK'S a TON of LOT'S to You all for this Great FORUM we are LOVING it REALLY !..

So dear Warrior's actually i and my friend we are going to run one SEO (company) firm (i m not mention/advertising it here) and its have budget of $50000++ (seo team, seo software, content distribution, content/articles writing etc,..)we have not started it yet but will start in june so to get help to recover this big $$$$$++ Investment fast we are also going to try GOOGLE ADSENSE for that we are also going to hire content/article writer's and going to create 10 best (not micro niche blogs i know google will not like them because of new PANDA/Penguin Updates/Changes in Google Algorithm)NICHE websites but they are for visitors needs and problems solving purpose not just for adsense earning we will follow all adsense rules regulation.. terms of services etc... and we will build all of them with Unique High Quality Articles (we will hire writer's) so we can full fill all need's problem's of visitors but that 10 website's are not registered yet.. so i have question's

    1. we are in INDIA Can we get Approve? / may i apply for adsense account and can we get approve?

yes i know its on GOOGLE which decides approve or not but i heard that:

all website's [(10) new websites] need at least 6 months old to get approve actually i have few websites which are already 1-2 year's old so can i apply using them and after i get approved by that 1-2 years old website then can i use my adsense codes on all new 10 websites which i m going to build soon for help to recover SEO investment..

i mean if site must be 6 months old then can i use my old sites to get approve adsense account and can i use adsense codes on all my new 10 websites?

can i apply using my old site and once i get approved with my old site can i use my adsense code on all my new websites instantly (i mean after registration of 1 month and getting some traffic and after reach 20 pages unique content per site) which are not registered yet?

can i use my code after i get approve with old site and can i use it on all new less than 6 months old sites? or i have to apply for every site i mean for all 10 sites i have to apply for google adsense every time seperately?

i mean it if i have old website or if i will buy one from flippa and i will apply using that website then after i get approved with that website(old, flippa etc..) then can i use my adsense codes instantly on my all new blogs, websites can i put my codes where ever i want ..? and/or i have to apply everytime to google adsense for all new websites/niche sites after getting approved with my old site?

or i have to wait for 6 months?

please help me out from this questions/ problem's Warrior's..

Thanks in Advance after writing this new Thread Post now i am in hope as well as other's get here all there solutions on any problem's or question's they have,.. as well as i will also get my all answers thanks again Warriors..

I can confirm that something weird happens here, heh!
Our website (over 2000 unique content recipes) updated with at least 1 recipe every day, makes only 5$/day with full onsite SEO and partial quality links offsite SEO + correctly placed ads!

Our analytics goes up and down every single day, showing that it cannot be monetized after the last big G update.

I am from India and I have not been approved by Adsense. My domain is 3 months old, may be that was one of the reasons. But I hear they do not accept anybody from India. Is that so?

If it is true, then I would try something else.

If I apply after my domain age is 6 months old, is there any chance of being approved?

Well I will give you some advice you would have to pay for , but for free. Its simple my company uses social services like twitter and facebook to promote. Then I have my own websites that recieve traffic, I post a link there and since Iam a Admin my member take my word. That way you get impulse clickers who will be more likely to click on your Adsense ADs because their impulse buyers always looking for a shiny new deal. Thats how to make money with Adsense, it works for my company and it will work for you.

well yes they are very strict even if you have done nothing they just ban you. so every step you make you should be very careful like when you refer your link. They can still detect that you should not refer your link to somebody. But there are other things that they do or something that they follow a pattern I think. I don't know really but one thing is for sure they just ban when they detected something wrong.

Paul - yes there are ways to have some influence on what is displayed by Adsense. You can customize exactly the text of the article that you want Google to use as its basis for choosing ads to display, instead of using all of your article. You can also customize your ads by blocking certain ads from showing up.

However, I do neither of those things. Here's why: how do you know that the ads are not relevant to your visitors? Google has tracks people's search habits, and they use those metrics to determine the best types of ads to display to people. It's not that I "trust" Google, but I know that this is a core part of their business model, so I let the Google bots determine the best ads for my visitors.

Also, you need to keep in mind that when you visit your own sites, Google will display ads based on your own browsing habits and search terms. So, the ads that are displayed when you browse your own sites, are not necessarily the same as what your visitors will see. Each person may see slightly different, but targeted ads, based on their search terms.

I know I didn't give you the technical steps of how to do it, but I hope you understand that "Yes, it is possible to do", but also, you may not really want to do it.

EDIT: I need you to clarify something for me. You stated that the anchor text is your url. My signature is Funny Foreign Movie Posters and my url is in my signature. Is Funny Foreign Movie Posters therefore my anchor text? And by changing the anchor text do you mean changing Funny Foreign Movie Posters to, say, Classic Movie Posters, even though the url remains the same?

Can anyone share how using AdSense has affected their rankings? I find that my rank drops if I insert ads to quickly. The SEO stuff is useful in this thread, but help on using AdSense and how it helps/hurts rank would be cool to know from others. Maybe it is because the revenue in my niches is higher (all $1+), but I get slammed for using it before I am at #4 or higher on page one.

Yes Exact match domains work very well, and I don't think Google will do something about it. Because a lot of brand names are involved in this. would it be correct if Dell lots its rankings for the word dell just because some affiliate bombarded his webpage with backlinks and outranked Dell. So, EMD is a killer strategy that will continue to work for affiliates.

The thing to avoid is 5 or more words in the domain name because search engines wont like that, it works at the beginning but its not a long term strategy. keep 3 word keyphrase only. this works like a sharm.

The Next thing is evaluating keyword competition:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Stop doing this stupid error of Allintitle and allinurl quoted results. This is really stupid strategy. instead Evaluate top ranking websites, top 10 or 20. and see if you can outrank them (keywordblaze is really good for this, highly recommend it).

Anyway thank for this useful thread.

I've heard contrasting stories on what to do when exact match domains aren't available. Some say add dashes; others say the dashes are spammy looking and adding a suffix is better. What's your take?

I appreciate the effort the OP has put into this post and the majority of the advice is sound with a couple of points I'd disagree with. It seems to me that this advice was good in 2011 but the introduction of Panda and Penguin have changed certain aspects of this SEO strategy, in particular:

"While normally I would recommend creating "killer content" and having articles that really over-delivers and gets your visitors hooked on your stuff, with Adsense sites, our goal is for the visitor to click on our ads and leave our site."

Yeah, this makes sense but be careful or it will get you banned from Adsense for creating a bridge page (I don't have enough posts to paste the link but Google for bridge page)

I got banned a few years back for it. I've learnt my lessons over the years, made my mistakes and spent my money on shit that doesn't work. Thankfully I've stuck it out and I'm nearly at the point now where I can do IM full time and one thing that is changed vastly in my time is that the Panda and Penguin updates are there to do with away with 'thin sites'.

Google will not rank sites without unique useful content. If you have a high bounce rate your site will sink and that's a fact. IMO there's nothing wrong with the link building you described but you really shouldn't leave out all the social sites like facebook, twitter and Google+ to pull people to your site out of curiosity and keep them there with great content and then keep them coming back. With one of my sites the GKT says it should get 2700 exact searches per month for my primary keyword, however my stats are more like 6000 because I have loyal followers and those people pay me around £160 per month by returning. I wouldn't get this if they didn't keep coming back and it's less work for me cos I don't need to keep creating lots of sites to get revenue

Just my 2 cents worth...otherwise good post, thanks.

    Ezine Articles
    Squidoo
    Hubpages
    GoArticles
    Articles Dashboard
    The Free Library
    Article Slash
Why would you want to do that? Wouldn't that be seen as duplicate content?

Built traffic : AdSense is all about targeted traffic. The more people you have on your site that are actually interested in what you have to offer, the more you will potentially make.
Experement : Test ad sizes, images vs. text, play around with colors, you name it. I personally like to have my ads match the background of my site so they blend more.
Create channels : Channels allow you to see what units are working best. So if you are adding an AdSense unit to your header, you should create a channel. so you can track its performance in your reports.
I think it's important to maximize your click through rate so you can attract more advertisers So I remove channels/units that perform significantly lower than others. If you follow this you will be sucessfull with adsense.

No wonder that I don't get many click thru's. When people search a keyword and find your site about say wedding dresses why would they click on an ad about Office Depot or some new barbq sauce. duh

Agreed, and some say that google has a way to fit only relevant ads into our pages/posts but not really sure if it works. The only hope is when someone is looking in a site for something related to wedding and sees an ad about coffee...he/she is reminded of the nice coffee he had somewhere..lol

Tony, you have metioned 1 very good point that is, exact match is no more applicable. If you want to rank for a particular kerword then you have make backlinks 20 to 30 percent on that keyword and rest on their synonym. For example, if i am targeting wordpress blog, then i will take 4 other keyworkds,
    1. wordpress blog(main keword 20%)
    2. wordpress blog theme(20%)
    3. wordpress blog plugin(20%)
    4. wordpress blog tips(20%)
    5. wordpress blog optimization(20%)

[QUOTE=Tony W;5381526]Note: There are no affiliate links in this post and I'm not affiliated with any of the services that I recommend in this guide.

It is really helpful guidelines you provide. I will try by doing the same. Very -2 thanks to share the information.

        You said that its fine.
You mean on the same page it is fine with google to combine their ads with other affiliates or it is fine with them as long as their ads were not combined with other affiliates on the same page?

This is my way to setup an Adsense blog.
    1. Searching local market with less competition
    2. Extracting keywords with the help of google keyword tool with mediam and low competition
(Select low keyword only if CPC is high)
3.Searching exact match domain with .com or co.in
    4. Setup wordpress blog and fire Auto blogging plugin

I have not seen any problem with the rankings of my website. Exact math domain factor works very well.

I think you should add to the FAQ that AdSense is NOT the only way to make money online.

If you've got a niche site in a reasonably competitive niche then it's often the worst thing to put on your site.

The best thing about AdSense is the ability to put it on a broad site (e.g. HubPages, Squidoo) and monetise every single page, but not many Warriors make these types of site.

If your content is not unique, then make sure it is not STOLEN.

I found a site with AdSense on and the guy had stolen every single one of my HubPages. He was lucky not to get an AdSense ban for that.

    Hello,
some days ago adsense was disabled on my site. They say that the site is not in compliance with Google policy. I made changes to the site and sent for review but the answer was still the same. I cannot figure out why it happens since they site content is interesting and quality. In the first letter they said that the site has pages with no unique or little unique content, but the site is a photoblog and there are lots of photoblogs with the same content and they run google ads without problems. What can I do? I can show the url in pm

    A. If you’re banned from AdSense, there are 2 things you can do. The first is to create an account for a family member and use that one. There are also services out there that create Adsense accounts for you. I don’t know if I’m allowed to mention any specific names here.

When I write articles, I don't link to Wikipedia. I choose to link to high authority sites with .edu, .gov and some websites which contents are provided by real experts. Say for example I wrote an article about Homosexuality and within that article I mentioned HIV/AIDS. If I wanted to link HIV/AIDS to another site, I would prefer to link it to Mayo clinic's PR5 page than Wiki's PR6 page. Why? Because I am aware that Mayo clinic's editors are all medical professionals. They do use other valuable references but the fact that they are all licensed medical representatives gives me the cue that the information they provide is better than Wiki's.

WOW. hold on I'm still absorbing this information ... LOL. Thank you very very much for that great write up on adsense. I have had so many questions and your post was very informative, well laid out. I know you spent some time on writing that and I wanted to say Thank you!
ALSO Thanks to ADMIN for posting the links in the forum rules! Great Idea! It just makes obtaining the information so much quicker. If the link was not there then I would have been asking questions for the next 2 weeks...... And I still might have to! LOL.
