hosting - swapping providers

Hopefully I've posted this in the right section so mr.mod go easy on me if I've not please.
I currently have 1 site hosted with godaddy and it's developing rather well, and traffic is jumping up, the bounce rate is high and as I have people actually emailing me (6 people so far! and I've never had a site with feedback like it) thanking me for how good my content is in helping them with xyz etc. I can only put the bounce rate down to my host - godaddy. I know they come in for a good kicking all round but to date I've not found them too bad. I also have a 2012 forum with them (Jv's wanted!) which is as slow as hell, but No.1 in google, which come London 2012 I'm also worried about it being hosted by godaddy
My question is this - If I move hosts which will take the normal 48 hrs while the DNS does its jiggle, will my google ranking drop out of site? e.g. I'd love to move to a faster host but as the site is just taking off do I risk denting my rankings/traffic?
All ideas on faster hosts most welcome. I am UK based (note this if you PM me). I also have a couple of client sites I'd swap over as well, hence my hesitant nature. I just want a faster host review, not peoples life history on how bad such and such has been for them. I'm just a no BS kind of person. The site is not graphics or video hungry in terms of b/width

    Hello,
I use Just Host. I transferred a site when I purchased a website on flippa and I had about 24-36 hours of downtime and my rankings did not drop. Please note that my site was 1 year old and was in the top 3 of google for a couple of keywords.

I host my websites with Just Host and they have been great. My biggest site gets around 12k visitors per month.

However, you can switch hosts with no down time (I learned this after having down time) and its easy to do.

Setup your new hosting account and add your domains in Cpanel.

After adding the domain of the website in Cpanel that you will be transferring, transfer your websites Database and files.

After the files and DB have been copied over, change your a record or DBS servers to point to the new host.

Once propagation finishes your site will be working off the new hosting with no downtime.
