Help - Link Velocity Disaster

Hey All - need some advice.
We had been building links quite steadily at a rate of about 80 - 100 per day up till about the 18th of December.
Then we pretty much completely stopped due to unforseen circumstances.
We started back about 5 days ago, but nevertheless tooooo late and we have started to drop in rankings and traffic.
Has anyone got any advice on this?
What rate should we start back at?
Should we dive straight back in at the same rate roughly 80 - 100 per day?
Any remedies available?
We look forward to hearing from you guys.
Regards,
Luke

  • The biggest factor in developing traffic using backlinks, is the quality and the relevance of the back link, while it used to be that by the sheer number of back links a website could get more traffic, the truth is that has now changed.

Quality over Quantity, Relevance over, Reverence.

Demonstrating this is something that you now have the unique opportunity to study.

You know what your previous efforts produced, now try something different and see what it does for you.

Then post your results so we can all see the difference, )

    • Thanks Tim - I hear ya, but should you not always do what has worked?
    • Hey Tim - I have looked at your website, good information and you have actually made me think, thanks again.
  • This doesn't sound like a 'link velocity issue' so much as a 'your links rolled off the first page issue' or something similar.

Link velocity is a theory that's floated a lot, but I don't believe I've ever seen definitive proof that it exists.

Expecting websites to build exactly the same number of links each day seems like something that link building company would say, rather than something Google would actually build into their algo.

However, I have an open mind. Maybe link velocity is really a factor.
  • SEO isn't an exact science you can start building links in any rate but make sure u make them consistantly.
