IMO these are the best fastest ways to get traffic to your site. There are paid methods but if your goal is speed most of them will be a waste.

Create a FB fan page and drive traffic to it through FB ads. It's very quick and highly targeted. It's also very cheap if you learn how to correctly do it.

Most people will recommend FB page traffic. Yes, it is good source but much "stable" one is your own made SEO. SEO is pretty hard to master but when you do it, you can live from it (of course if you're good with it).

JV partnerships. They send an email in their list to your website. It takes about ... hmmm 5 min. :-)

My free fastest traffic method has been Craigslist. Took awhile to master and had to find the right thing to promote, but if I'm in a pinch for cash, it works great.
For a pay method I use Solo Ads.

Heck if you have a brand new site up and running and need traffic in about 3 mins, google adwords or some others major ppc engines is the go, or other pay per click sites.

PPC and article marketing hands down. Even though article marketing has taken a hit due to Panda, you'll still get alot of hits this way.

I still say that the fastest form of traffic for me is with video marketing. Youtube has millions of visitors everyday and it is so easy to funnel them to any site you want.

For PPC I stay away from Facebook and stick to Google, Yahoo and Bing. I do not bid on the top spots. I'm fine with position 4-8 or even lower on PPC.

My theory with PPC is your list building improves when you get the clicks on page 2. The website visitor did not find what they needed in page 1. You can avoid the "false clicks". And I think you get quality traffic from people who hit page 2 and are still searching for that solution to whatever it is they are looking for,
