Blog Commenting On PR0 Blogs For SEO Backlinks

Would you take the time to do blog commenting on PR0 blogs?

I use Blog Comment Demon and although it has an automated form filler should I even take the time to post comments on PR0 blogs.

Does anyone know if there is a penalty on duplicate blog comments? I use the syntax to spin the comments but want to do things the best way.

The F#&%ing Panda seems to be getting hungrier.

I'm of the opinion that there's no such thing as a "bad" link. There are certainly "useless" links, and you can get penalized for too many spammy links in a short period of time, but all links carry some value.

However, if you're posting to auto-approve blogs that already have thousands of spammy comment links, those won't count for much if anything. The best links are from high PR pages with few outbound links, but every little bit helps.

Thanks, the pages I comment are typically 0-18 comments.
I know about those spammy pages and believe when I outsourced to one company from Elance they did just that with my site which has not ranked for more than 6 months now but was #2 and #3 on a very profitable keyword.

Do you know if BackLinkGenie posts to those bad neighborhoods?

If there are good links, there will be bad links too. There is no such a thing of no bad links. Google are really aware of SEO these day. They will certainly penalize your site if any copyrighted, duplicated content is found!

I don't agree with sites that already have thousands links in the page are useless links. How about Web Directories like Yahoo Dir! Don't think in your personal way. There are more you will need to pay attention with, domain age, domain reliablity, inbound links, trusted links and etc.

Great input... I have decided to use BCD to get the blogs by keyword, then I will use the form filler to just do the name, email and website and some generic text but i will scan the post and make a targeted comment.

This will reduce a lot of the repetitive work and the program does scan the blogs to see if the comment was accepted so from that I can create a list of blogs that are the best to submit to.

          Thanks

All I can say is if you really do want to "do things the best way," drop any tools you're using to generate content and do it the old fashioned way. Generate unique content yourself.

When I first started internet marketing, I read Xfactor's eBook which was his step-by-step ways of building niche sites for adsense and ranking them via article marketing.

I've since sold it but I made a site surrounding landscaping and ranked it all by myself using ONLY Ezinearticles.com.

I would write 8-10 articles a week and submit them to ezine. Before I knew it, my site was ranking higher and higher every week.

I'm not saying article marking or EzineArticles.com itself is the right route to go because that site lost a lost a TON of traffic after Panda. However, the point of IM, to me at least, is to "Work Hard so you can Hardly Work."

It goes back to what I said in the previous thread, you have to put in effort now. Just because there are guys out there with residual income without lifting a finger doesn't mean they got there with no work. Those guys have put in their time and it's paying off now. If you want those same benefits, you gotta put in the same amount of work. Stray away from tools and such because Google has always and will always find ways to lessen the quality of them.

I hear you on that. The more I look for that shortcut it just ends up being a questionable road perhaps in the wrong part of town.

Of course use programs to find good backlink locations and let software do some of the work but keep the quality high and respectable.

I believe that is what the Panda is looking for...

I have to agree with dminorfmajor. Honesty is the best policy. Plus if you want the best karma, then drop any tools using demon in their description.
Hire some service like linkguru or textbroker to get bloggers for you.

For me, I would rather go for high PR valuable blogs than PR0 blogs. And of course, don't build too much backlinks in a single day with auto-approved blogs (especially those who have spam comments), and it doesn't give any value to the reader and the search engines themselves.

Ha ha.. yes, Panda is getting hungrier and hungrier!

Well, there is nothing wrong in using the blog comment submitter, but using the same comment can harm you a lot. The Google will take a notice of it and mark them as duplicate and which will be potentially harmful for your site too. Now, since you are saying that you are spinning the comments, I would suggest you to reduce the efforts to not more than 10-15 comments a day. Too much would be very harmful for you

5-10 comments a day, I try to keep everything random. One day no comments, another day comments on a different page.

Try to keep it totally normal. As the domain ages it would be likely and natural for a healthy site to increase in backlinks.

Ok, this is my take on it. When commenting on blogs.. mix it up a little.. like everything link building related. I'm testing my latest app out which helps me to identify quality blogs but I would never auto submit comments. Even if the comments seem like they're 'kind' of related to the 'broad' subject you are searching for.

People can spot 'untargetted' comments a mile off and Google can spot these comments in the same way. This says to me that Google can easily identify a spammy blog that does not moderate their comments compared to a moderated blog... high PR or not! You know the type of comments I'm talking about.... those that tell you that they cannot believe they have 'stumbled' across your blog and are that excited about it they are going to tell the world about it by bookmarking your blog at a squillion bookmarking sites and that they are also going to send a sealed document of approval through the the President of The United States so that he can also check out your blog. It's boll#cks and also shows that blogs publishing these types of comments are not monitored for quality.

My advice is to scan over the blog post... That's right. you do not even have to read 'all' of it... but you need to get a good idea of what the post is about so that you can then write a good comment. This comment might give your specific opinion on the subject... it might offer some value for others to read. Those are the sort of comments that are more likely to get approved.

Ask yourself this... is it worth blasting loads of comments to spammy blogs to end up with spammy links... and also on pages where other non-monitored links reside such as X rated links.. etc. Or would you rather spend 2-3 minutes writing and submitting a relevant, valuable comment that might result in a quality PR3+ link from a 'quality blog. As for as blog commenting goes and the kind of value such link building practices can offer... then those are the kind of links that will offer the most value... not spammy ones on dead end sites.

Actually I find PR0 blogs to be an interesting way of building backlinks. I've gotten my PR up by 1 just posting on PR0 blogs for a week! Though after enough people commented and posted their own less than related link, the backlinks started not being worth as much...

You will not get any penalty on leaving the same comments on different blogs. IMO, they will still count as backlink. But remember that leaving comments to blogs that have been attacked by spammers is quite useless because the value of the link from that particular blog has been devalued.
