Hi

Is it ok to write content about subjects that we have no experience of to earn an income with adsense? I am prepared to research the information to write the articles so I am hoping that this is acceptable.

An example would be to write about log cabins or various type of furniture or providing information about pets that we don't have a lot of experience with.

Thanks

Hey, that's fine, in fact it's just what professional content writers do. Obviously it's better to write about something you have experience of and feel real passion for as it makes the process more enjoyable, which should show through your writing.

As long as your writing is well researched, original and relevant.

I create adsense sites, it's amazing the knowledge I've acquired on a myriad of different subjects (and I outsource most of it, although I always check the content).

Thanks, I'm thinking of testing some niches and wonder if writing articles on Web 2.0 sites is a good way to see what I enjoy writing about and what delivers the most adsense clicks, what do you think? I can't afford to purchase a lot of .com domains and I would like to rank in the search engines as soon as possible even it it's for keywords that only get 100-500 searches per month. Even if I start earning pennies it's something to work on. Any advice?

    Thanks

That's a good idea, although at the very least use google keyword tool to see what the average cost per click is, if it's really low and there are only a few hundred visitors you'll put in a lot of effort for not much gain. I've been there : )

Places like hub pages are a good place hone your writing, also, after you launch your site you can include a link from your web 2.0 article to your website.

Hubpages and Squidoo are pretty good of this.

Like what the other guys have said - do your research, and check google adwords for the CPC vs Search volume! Make sure that you're using [exact] search as well!

Aside from that it really helps if you can come up with some 'formats' to use - it will make writing easier and quicker overall and you'll be sure to provide good information if you're working through each part of your format thoroughly.

Yes, it's a good idea to use the Google Adwords keywords tool.

So, If I want to earn money with lots of longtail keywords that only get a few 100 searches per month which collectively add up to 1000's of searches, is it better to write a hub or page to target a more competitive keyword which gets say over a 1000 searches per month and include the longtail phrases in the article? Or should I write a hub or page for each of the longtail keywords even though they only get a few hundred searches per month? I hope you understand what I am trying to explain. In other words what is the best way to get the long tail keywords to rank as soon as possible?

    Thanks

Yes of course. It's not essential to be an expert in a niche that you want to monetized. It just need proper research to be able to give information to your visitors and give them what they're looking for.

You can also hire a writer that is expert in the niche that you want to dig in and I think they can give more useful information than you.

Appreciate the replies. So, how much research do you think will be enough on a topic like log cabins or writing about pets? Where can I get reliable information online and is it enough to do research on the internet in various places or do I need to go to the library also?

Library would be great! I used to be a teacher and students who went to the library always stood out over the those who got all their info from the first page of google!

Also you need to be more specific, "log cabins" and "pets" are quite general, terms like "best wood for log cabins" or "friendliest small cats" etc are like the things you want to be looking at.

    Hi

I think I'll probably start researching information on the web and then when I get a chance to visit the library, I can then compare the content to see what else I can add to it. I agree that writing articles on more specific keywords like you suggest is something I should aim to do. However, since I'm unsure about what specific niches to concentrate on as yet, I'm wondering how many articles you people would recommend I write in each niche area in order to test how profitable they are with adsense and to find how interested I am in them? Would 5-10 articles be enough in each topic area? I'm thinking 5-10 articles on keywords that collectively add up to around 5,000 searches per month.

Also, are there any preferable Web 2.0 sites to test the niches to earn with adsense?
