Difficulty With SEO Company

Hello, I am somewhat of an SEO novice, but I do have an basic understanding of it. My company recently paid a company to build some backlinks for us. A month later I had to press them for a report of the back links they built, and when I followed them I was relatively unimpressed. I checked the profile addresses they gave me and they were all n/a. They seemed like they just built a bunch of profile pages on different sites and linked them to ours. I am not sure if this is a good strategy or not, or if it will help at all. It won't let me attach links because I am a new member. Thanks, Scott

  • How much did you pay for this and what did they tell you that you were receiving? This sounds like $5 worth of work to me.

  • Have you got back to them and told them your problem. Usually SEO companies will or should make up any bad links you have being given. Or maybe you should try to get your money back. But if the company are reputable you should get an answer back from them and they should explain everything too you.
  • They said they were going to use no software to build these links, and that domain authority and page authority are more important than PR. I checked the links and they were all listed as n/a and not pr1. Does this mean they are doing nothing for me?
  • Two words: Sue them.
  • Yea...sue them.

  • That where the problem began. Hire a SEO not a backlinker. They are nowhere near the same.
  • Scott, there are so many people ready to take your cash ... ask yourself what do you want? 1,000's of backlinks or targeted keywords on page 1 location on Google?

If it's the later, let me know - as we can help

    If it's 1,000's of backlinks - goto fiverr.com [please don't do it]

  • What exactly did you pay them for?

Was it just a vaguely worded promise to build a bunch of backlinks or something more precise?

If they provided you with upfront details as to the type of backlinks they would be creating and haven't delivered on that, then you have a rightful claim on getting a refund.

However, if they didn't provide any upfront details, then you can't put the full blame on them as you should have insisted on more details.
