Don't Forget Bing & Yahoo

Just a friendly reminder that with the right conversions and keywords, you can sometimes do pretty well from Bing and/or Yahoo search rankings.

I've got a plain little one-page review site in a niche that would probably crack you up if I told you what it was. Nowhere to be found in Google (they don't seem to like micro sites these days). But it's #1 at Bing and #2 at Yahoo last time I looked for the main keyword. And it does pretty good for a site that took me literally about 2 hours to set up.

I'm not saying to rely on those engines. I am saying that a well-done micro site that converts traffic at a higher rate than most can become a nice little money maker without all the hoops Google makes us jump through.

In my experience, those 2 seem to rely less on backlinks and more on solid on-page SEO. Pick a lower competition keyword and use a review site strategy centered around best sellers in that niche at Amazon, for example, and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Again, you won't be retiring from the income anytime soon, but if you create the page in 2 hours, you don't need a lot coming in from any one of these sites to see a huge ROI.

If more people knew how to game Bing then I think it would be more prominent in the SEO sections. I've got some sites that took a dive in Google but still make sales with a little traffic just coming from Bing.

Hmmm a search engine that is harder to manipulate by marketers. I bet their results are ordinary!

You are completely, utterly WRONG, Zeus66!

People should stay away from Bing and Yahoo. They are not worth the effort at all.

Everyone should focus on Google. Worry about Google. Check your rankings daily. Build tons of sites filled with spun content, PLR content, spun PLR content and stuff related to your keywords and link back to your primary site. Go to eHow and EZA and fill them with tons of articles relating to your content with backlinks to your primary site. Go buy some AdSense ads.

People should focus entirely on Google.

Google is where it's at. People should put all of their efforts into manipulating their search rankings in Google to get the highest positions possible. And continue manipulating to stay there. Build dozens of sites to help stay there. Build your own competition and keep them all there on the first page of Google.

Do everything in your power to make sure you stay at the top of Google.

And just forget about Yahoo and Bing entirely. They're not worth it. Not worth it at all.

Stay away from Yahoo and Bing. Far far away.
        Especially if you're my competition.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

If you think Bing & Yahoo is easy, try Youtube traffic, it's like fishing in a barrel.

Do you mean organic traffic from uploading videos and having a link to your site in the description area? I find that can be useful for some purposes (like list building). What have you found to work best with that traffic?
