On my category pages I have adsense added and was just wondering if it is good the way I have it set up?

Also I have added some content on there category pages, but does the product descriptions count as content or should I add more to the top of the page. If so can you give me ideas what to add. Many thank yous in advance.

  • Looks fine just people may not see it or click b/c there is alot of other stuff to look at too
  • Well I think people will tend to click on "compare prices" than your adsense ads. I don't see any problem with the placement.
  • I think the placement of the Adsense ads at the top and right of the page are clever. Do you want to make Adsense a main income generator for you, instead of the products on your website? Are these affiliate products or products that you can wholesale/dropship from somewhere else?

    • Thanks Randall Magwood, Yes they are affiliate products and yes I would like to generate more income with adsense. If you have any ideas, that would be awesome.
  • The ads look ok, but often people look to the top left of a page first, so if you want more clicks chances are putting your ads there will help.

I think you are very light on information on these pages though - Google likes big sites with lots of content so if I were you I'd focus on adding more content.

I know it's a comparison shopping site but 400-500 words would really help I think.

    Good luck !

    • Thanks tim_buchalka,
Your right about adding the words. I just dont know what to write. I also have to figure out how to generate the keywords of the products that are on the page when I write something right? or else it would be the same paragraph on every single page? I have to figure out how to generate those keywords.
  • nice thread.. thanks for sharing
  • Thanks again everyone, I switched a couple of things around with adsense on my product pages. Let me know what you think. I dont want it to be overwhelming for visitors. Go to Laptop Computers - Lowest Prices at Qpricing
  • Just one comment: You have 3 adverts above the fold. Google will penalize you in the search ranking positions for that:
