How long should your Build My Rank posts be?

If I use Build My Rank, I know that I can have 1 link for every 150 words. But if I simply write about 150 words each time, doesn't that seem like very little content for 1 link in Google's eyes.

For those of you who build 1 link per post, how long are your posts on average?

    Some would say longer posts are better, but nobody really knows.

    The reason they go for 150 words is that based on experience over the years, it has been assumed that for every 150 words, one link seems appropriate.

    I usually go for 150 words. But, most of the time I can not control it. When you are writing the posts, it gets longer and longer, so my posts are usually around 200 words.

    I make mine around 150, just long enough to get the one link in.
    I don't want to put two links to the same site in the same post, and if all my posts had backlinks to my other sites, it might start looking suspicious in Google' eyes.
    E.g. In 30 of my posts, if there is a link to site A and site B. How strange would that look?

    Not really considering most Wordpress blogs Index page only contains text snippets per each blog post. So I kinda doubt a Google bot would pick up on that (text snippet) in a negative way.

    Even when it rolls off the Index page, you'll be fine.

    Also, each 150 word snippet is being placed on a random blog, those blogs will contain all types of article lengths at random, which will look normal (random text lengths).

    Could someone tell me if the keyword link has to be in the first sentence or if it is ok to be in the last sentence (on a BMR post). The last few I have written, it just naturally fell in the last sentence. I assume the BMR posts themselves don't need to be SEO driven.

      It doesn't really matter, especially for a 150 word post.

      Just write normal & include the anchor-text keyword once in the BMR post.

        Exactly, the anchor text is more important than the actual word count.

      The idea behind sticking your link early on in the article is so that it will appear in the snippet, on the front page (where the highest PR will be) of whatever blog it happens to be posted on - at least for a short period of time until it rolls off.

    One other BMR question, if you don't mind. Is it acceptable to take one of your BMR posts and add to it to make it into a post for the website the BMR post was made for or would that violate some BMR guideline regarding original posts to their network?Thanks

    Yeah always remember to push your keyword in the post. I dont do that many of these because I think google looks out for those.

    I personally only use 150 word posts and most of my clients prefer them as well. The reason for this is that if you have your link in the first sentence or two, it will hopefully get indexed while it is on the blog's homepage it was submitted to. The homepage of the blogs in BMR's network have a higher PR than the inside pages so if your link gets on it even temporarily it is better.

    However, as Google becomes more obsessed over long, quality content I am thinking that more and more people will start using 300+ word posts because Google will see the link as more valuable.
