Adwords - Testing Domain Names Still Okay?

I've heard that Google is not letting people send traffic to a site that doesn't match the same domain that's in the advert.

I presume this is to try and stop Direct Linking Campaigns etc.

But it sure makes life tougher for people sending traffic to their own sites who want to split-test URLs to increase CTR.

Why is it that Google wants to make life so hard for Marketers?

Why can't they just be happy with the Billions they are already making?

Well, that's my short rant for the day.

Uhm... how does slit-test requires you to display one domain but direct to another?

I don't see any problem whatsoever, unless I wanted to direct link and someone else was doing it. That's how they prevent their pages from flooding with 100's of ads to the same offer. Which is great, imo.

Besides, even so, it is possible to get around that with iframes. Although I don't really care, I'm sure they will fix that sooner than later as well.

Having tracking redirects in there is perfectly fine.

But when using different domain names in the same campaign but different adgroups, was fine a while back, but now it appears one has to use these new domain names in different ad campaigns now...

Perry Marshall made a note about it a few days ago on his blog I believe (or some other site)erm.. let me find the link....
