Has there been a major Google update: Site Loss Severe Ranking ?

Over the past 3 days my site (a shopping cart) was demoted from between 10-20 Google positions back for almost all main keywords. I suspect maybe a penalty. It is a shopping cart so content doesn't change much, except adding product pages. Has there been some aggressive Google updates this week?

Nothing has happened to any of my sites. It could be new competition, Google getting bored of your old content (I recommend adding a blog), your backlinks disappearing, or a combination of all those. Have you added new links to your site or starting getting spammy backlinks? That may be causing a penalty. You didn't give enough information to really make a conclusion...

somethings up with google for sure... I have been ranking #1 in the most competitive keyword in my market for long over a year now and the past two days or so I have seen my site juggle within the top 3 spots. Sometimes google ranks the #8 ranking site #1 and other times it has shifted the #4 ranking above me.

Keep doing what you did to get the ranking in the first place and wait it out. Worst thing you can do right now is go CRAZY with building insane amount of links, thinking doing so will help... it wont.

I think that there is a major Google update as all the webmaster forums have users posting that they get a big increase or decrease in PageRank (PR) .

I checked out Digitalpoint forum on last Monday because the traffic of one of my site dropped too and there was mentioned there was the re-run of Panda or something. Now the traffic is rising again.
