Adsense on site for sale

Thought I knew the answer to this, but could not
find my reference. The question is about
putting adsense on a site that has some sort of
"site for sale" sign or text on it.
I first thought it was against TOS to do this, similar
to the page under construction thing. But dang
if I could find it.
The question is not about putting adsense on a site
for sale, but adsense on a site that makes it known
on the site that it's for sale.
Anyone have a reference for this or other ideas?
I'd like to put a site up for sale, but basically advertise
that on the site.
