I personally stopped Facebook and Myspace advertising since the traffic quality is extremely low compared to Adwords or Yahoo, but it certainly depends alot on the offer...for me it didn't do well enough to become an alternative.

Well you have to consider your target market or who you are marketing too. Myspace is mostly made up of kids and bands nowadays so unless that is who you are targetting it might not be the best bet.

If your website is for grown ups then maybe you are advertising on the wrong site, myspace population is covered with teenagers, so its not a great idea to advertise on it, I highly prefer google adwords.

The porn and other negative response emails, contacts, etc. that you get flooded with outweight any positive ad responses. There are much better places to advertise.
