Ranking a squeezepage?

Hi!

I was wondering that is it possible to rank squeeze page to page 1 and top 3 possibly? Basicly this would be a page with no real content that would repeat the keyword or anything like that, just a squeezepage with EMD. Might have the keyword in the squeezepage 1 or 2 times if it would help.

Is this possible and if so, how much harder is it?

I know close to nothing about SEO so I'm sorry if this is dumb question :rolleyes:

  • It's not a dumb question at all. I've found it quite a bit harder to rank a squeeze page with little content. It's still possible, but you need a darn good backlink portfolio.
  • It depends on the competitiveness of your keyword. If it's a low-comp keyword you shouldn't have any trouble with a lot of quality backlinks

    Time is running out for these types of pages/domains without much content. You can still do it, but it's not going to last long term as the search engines are forever searching for ways to get rid of thin sites.

    Why not place the squeezepage on a larger domain with content?

    • I'm with Greener on this one, squeeze pages need to be a part of a bigger site with content, otherwise any decent rankings won't outlast future Google updates.
    • Oh okay, probably won't try it then. And I don't really like building sites and that stuff, but I still wanted to try SEO so squeezepage would've been the choice for me.
