Keyword density may be the area of occasions a keyword or phrase seems on the web site in comparison towards the final amount of words around the page. Poor seo keyword density can be used an issue in identifying whether an internet page is pertinent to some specified keyword or keyword.

Within the late the nineteen nineties, that was the first times of search engines like google, keyword density was key point in the way a page was rated. However, as website owners discovered this and also the implementation of optimum keyword density grew to become common, it grew to become a small element in the ratings. Search engines like google started giving priority with other factors which are past the direct charge of website owners. Today, the overuse of key phrases, an exercise known as keyword stuffing, may cause an internet page to become punished.

Many Search engine optimization experts think about the optimum keyword density to become one to three percent. Utilizing a keyword in addition to that might be considered search junk e-mail. The formula to calculate your keyword density on the web site for Search engine optimization reasons is (Nkr / Tkn) * 100,[citation needed] where Nkr is the number of occasions you repeated a particular keyword and Tkn the entire words within the examined text. This can lead to a keyword density value. When calculating keyword density, make sure to ignore html tags along with other embedded tags that won't really come in the written text from the page once it's released.

When calculating the density of the keyword, the formula could be (Nkr * Nwp / Tkn) * 100, where Nwp is the amount of words within the phrase. So, for instance, for any page about seo where that phrase can be used four occasions and you will find 400 words around the page, the keyword density is (4*3/400)*100 or 3 %.

However, from the purely mathematical point of view, one cannot ignore the truth that the initial idea of keyword density refers back to the frequency (Nkr) of appearance of the particular keyword inside a dissertation. Thus, a "keyword" composed of multiple terms, e.g. "blue suede footwear" should be thought about a business by itself. It's the frequency from the phrase "blue suede footwear" inside a dissertation that drives the important thing(phrase) density. As a result it is "more" mathematically correct for any "keyphrase" to become calculated similar to the original calculation, but thinking about the term group, "blue suede footwear," like a single appearance, not three. Thus:

Density = ( Nkr / Tkn ) * 100.

In addition, under closer inspection, it's possible to observe that these 'keywords' (kr) that really contain several words, unnaturally inflate the entire number of words from the dissertation. Therefore, it may be contended the purest mathematical representation should adjust the entire number of words (Tkn) lower by getting rid of the surplus key(phrase) word counts in the total. Thus:

Density = ( Nkr / ( Tkn -( Nkr * ( Nwp-1 ) ) ) ) * 100. where Nwp = the amount of terms within the keyphrase.

This general formula enables the total number of words is going to be untouched when the key(phrase) is actually a single term, therefore it functions because the original formula.

    In general I keep it at 1-1.5 percent, perfect for Google
    However
    some say Yahoo and Bing like up to 5%. I am not going to make separate pages for them. Kw density is very low on the totem pole
    rather concentrate on backlinking

      I think you should at least give credit to the total copy paste from:
      How to Calculate your Keyword Density

      2nd of all and please correct me cause im trying to do a keyword density advanced checker online to help out the community and i really want to correct formula to use:
      using the last "correcy formula" lets say i have an article or a text of 100 words (lets put it easy so the math is faster than compared to 500 or whatever)
      if i have a:

      • Keyword phrase of 3 words which repeats 3 times through the text, if use the last formula my keyword density is: 3.19% (the keyword/phrase density sounds ok)
      • Keyword phrase of 3 words which repeats 10 times through the text, if use the last formula my keyword density is: 12.51% (the keyword/phrase density doesnt sounds that eal if im using already 30/100 and its just 12.51)
      • Keyword phrase of 3 words which repeats 20 times through the text, if use the last formula my keyword density is: 33.33% (the keyword/phrase density sound quite dodgy to be a true density, cause ill have just 40 words left and the phrase )
      • Keyword phrase of 3 words which repeats 30 times through the text, if use the last formula my keyword density is: 75.00% (the keyword/phrase density sounds non logical since i repeat everyting 30 times and i have just 10 extra keyword to use in the whole article)
      So this formula seems quite biased for me

      also here Live Keyword Analysis
      a real popular keyword density, which they also quote, if you put lets say 100 words and a 3 words phrase repeated 10 times, it displays a 20.4% density, this is simply not right

      can someone come up with which one is the real answer for keyword density on a phrase, i think i would use the one on the article before their "master formula"

      (Phrase Number of Words)*(Repetition of the phrase)/(Total Words in the article)

      any help?
