Is facebook reason for forums shutting down?

I have written an article in my blog saying that Facebook is the reason why forum sites are shutting down.Any thoughts about it?Justify.

    Facebook isn't a forum.

    If a forum shut down because of Facebook, that forum must have sucked to begin with, which really has nothing to do with Facebook.
