Content, Blogs, and Traffic Questions

Hi Guys,

Need a little bit of help with traffic estimates for a new project and hoping that someone with some blog experience can assist me.

In the next couple of months, we'll be investing around $150K to $250K into our online content marketing programs. In a nutshell, we want to get the most out of our content and I need to justify the expenses.

There are 2 categories we'll be investing in. The first is for those who want to work at home and have a marketing agency. These will be artilces like, "work from home" or "start an SEO Agency" The other is for business owners who need marketing. Those would be more like "PPC marketing for Dentist".

So, we can do a pretty wide scope of marketing for our content campaign.

Just a few questions for those of you who manage large blog networks with unique content.

1. On average, how much traffic do you get per post? I realize that this is an averaging question and different niche's will mean different traffic, but looking for an estimate. 10 visits per month per post? Maybe someone can look into analytics and tell me the number of visits they get per post on average.

Just an FYI, our articles are all unique, have images or screen shots and are on average 1000 words per post. Good USA writers and good content! We are also using custom modified Standard Themes, which rank well in Google.

2. Do you suggest microsites (30 Articles per site) or a few main sites with hundreds of articles? We're planning on both, some keyword friendly.

I realize that you might say, do one site because of offsite SEO, however, we have a very good link building team and we can build links to any post and create SEO traction. We also have about 70 domain names which are very SEO friendly which will match our keywords.

Thank you in advance for any helpful responses. If I can answer any questions for you, I'll be happy to do so.

Cheers,
M

  • Just an FYI, we're already using PPC, Social Media, and other forms of marketing. So, I realize that you might have blogs pulling social media in as well. We will also. Just trying to figure out average visits per post. Most bloggers know the more quality postings they have the more traffic they will have. Again, I appreciate your help in advance.
