Hello all.

I am fairly new to this, and have managed to rank a site or two, and am reaping the benefits.

However, I'd like to try my hand at ranking more moderately competitive keywords, with page 1 competition that has a few thousand backlinks. Some are niche marketer sites as well.

Any thoughts about how to do this affordably? I hear talk of people who have their methods, but they aren't exactly enumerated.
