Question About Google Places Reviews

I have a competitor who insists that I left bad reviews on their google places page. They are saying that they have contacted google and they have checked the I.P. numbers and they go to my I.P. (WTF?) Is this even possible?

They are obviously messing with you. I've seen people try to contact Google for over 1 year because of fake places page reviews and they were met with silence.

Im pretty sure the competitor is full of crap. I called them out on the two obviously fake users who left one star reviews on my places page and on the same date left reviews on their page with 5 stars.

i think you should ignore him. keep doing good work. If they really contacted to the google then google will send you the confirmation email for any changes they want on your listing. Google guys don't have time to notice each and every email so don't bother.

As mentioned previously, the only way to get Google to tell you a particular IP is via a court order. And these are getting issued only if you have very, VERY strong proof of the source of the review, i.e. the IP would serve just as a final proof, not as "the start of a prosecution". And yes, your competitor sounds like a person who deserves much more than a bad review.
