I am looking to have someone do an on page SEO analysis of my site. It's pretty new and I just want to make sure I'm getting it off to the right start.

I'm looking for a full report of anything I can improve on and as much other information as possible.

I've seen some things on fiverr for 30 page SEO reports and the examples they give seemed like they were giving good info but I was not sure since on page SEO is one area which I struggle with still.

Anyway, if you can recommend a service or fiverr gig or whatever just post here or shoot me a PM.

Instead of fiverr I would recommend using BHW to find a reliable person/company to provide you a detailed report.

If you are using decent software like wordpress or joomla or phpld, it will already be doing a decent job with on page SEO. Probably a better focus is going to be to move toward marketing to real people, and seeing why (or why not) they want to get involved in your site in some way. SEO alone probably will not make significant money in today's internet which has literally trillions of pages now.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

You don't know that without looking at the Wordpress Theme OP is running.

Matter of fact most WP themes suck at on-page SEO out of the box.

Most theme designers don't have a clue about SEO, & probably really don't care about SEO in general, they're designers they design themes.

What would be an example of a wordpress theme that has bad seo?

You can use a plugin like SEOPressor or Easy WP SEO to check on-page SEO if you have a WordPress site. The closer you can get to a 100% score, the better. It's a quick and easy way to check if you can't remember all of the elements that go into on-page SEO.

I've got the checklist for good on-page SEO practices burned into my brain, I think! I've purchased and played around with those plugins just to see what they would do and was impressed. I don't use the plugins, but I recommend others do, as they are very helpful.

Hi - if you post your url, I'm sure TONS of people would be happy to take a look - I would! But here's the quick deal so you can check for yourself...

First, find a good keyword: High traffic, low competition, right phase of the buying cycle or that which has good market viability.

Second, make sure that the target keyword appears in your Title Tag. Title should have a max of around 60 characters with spaces. Google likes words like "information." So a formula like "Keyword - Information About KeywordVariation" can typically work well.

Third, write a meta description tag that uses your target keyword and a variation of it. Aim for 150 characters with spaces and write as a complete sentence. Try to make this a punchy, benefits driven statement - if the meta description is used in the SERP, it will help compel people to click on our listing.

Fourth, Use an H1 tag that includes your target keyword or a permutation of it.

Fifth, Include your target keyword in your first sentence of body copy, followed by a good bit of body copy - say 450 word minimum (this number highly debatable). If your article is longer, use H2 and h3 tags with variations of your key phrase.

Sixth, include a picture or two and make the ALT text your target keyword or a permutation of it.

Seventh, link to this page from other pages on your website, using your target keyword as anchor text. Do this at least once, but don't over do it.

There... your page is optimized. :-)

They also like the words, collywobbles, chicken twiddles and shennigans.

"collywobbles" yes, definitely. But "shennigans?" I think G much prefers gobbledegook to shennigans.

Come on now... just trying to give an idea about how to formulate titles.... If someone is new at it, examples can help.

I got that tidbit about information-type-words from Bruce Clay... for what that's worth anyway....

No, gobbledegook was a proprietary Yahoo keyword from back in 1997.

Seatbelt, Id just post up the URL dude, easiest way.

Getting the report is only going to tell you what is lacking, you need to know what to do and how to fix the problem to take action. On-page SEO is only the beginning... before you even consider that you need to do some in depth keyword research, that is the foundation of an onpage seo strategy!

I think in time this will be a "good" website / theme...
but...in the mean time i would personally use a different "focused" theme.
i would have your main niche keyword article as the home page (don't use "stop yeast infection" their is no traffic for it)
then i would build the first few articles related to the main topic and link back to that home page.

after the site gets momentum you can switch to the theme you are using now.

      just my 2 cents worth.

Wow, fiverr is the worst possible place you could look for SEO advice. If you want good SEO google for "SEO Company #cityname#' and go from there. Think about it, if they were any good at SEO you think they would show up in the list right?

I fully agree with you, in fiverr most people try to "steal" from you those 5 bucks and they won't tell you many things, because the report will be very simple...

On-Page SEO contains a big variety of things, such as unique titles, desc and keywords for EACH page, H1 and H2 tags, Alt and Title tags, etc...

Learn what is on-page SEO and do it yourself! Best advice I can tell you is watch how competitive niche are being on-page optimized (reading forums doesn't hurt too). H tags, image alt text, etc. all matter.

I will say this much: don't bother buying a guide on Fiverr to on page SEO. I've got lots of info on my blog about how to do it and it won't cost you a penny to read it. Not to mention that there is tons of info here at WF.

True, there is plenty of information here and understanding on-page SEO would be highly beneficial. It's also true though that it's always great to get some feedback, but as long as you don't get stuck in the "thinking" part instead of "doing" you should be good to do! Let me know if you need any specific advice!
