Keyword Density Nightmare!!! Egads...

Hey again warriors,

I got a quick question...

keyword density... I've head to keep it between 1% and 5%. If my keyword is "my keyword example", the keyword is technically 3 words. Does the 3 words count as only 1 keyword, or does it count as 3 keywords?

and to calculate the keyword density %, ive just been copying everything off my blog and putting it into word to get a word total.

for example:

if "my keyword example" exact comes up 30 times on a blog post with 1000 words (30/1000) = .03 or 3%

That 30 times was only in the body tho, not counting H1, H2, H3 tags, Not Counting Alt tags on pictures and not counting the title of the post... are those keywords still considered or is it only the keywords in the body that make the keyword density percentage?

Thanks!

Generally you'd count the 3 words as 1 keyword.

Ignore the alt tags and title. Counting the header tags varies by opinion. Just try to keep it looking natural and you should be fine with the headers.

    Hope that clears things up.

      would you recommend fiverr gigs?

      Thanks again!

      @yukon

You mean the fact that google will ban you for keyword stuffing is bs?

Or the fact that google cares about keyword frequency?

      Thanks!

No, google could care less what you do. Write
for a human, not a search engine. What human
gives a flying leap about reading something with
a certain keyword density? Besides, the lameness
of this is that you probably use another word that
may be seen as a keyword. Then what? You're
going to make sure that each and every word is
        at a certain percentage? Baloney.

Google cares about keyword stuffing. But keyword
stuffing IS KEYWORD STUFFING. They are not the same
as keyword density. Keyword stuffing is something usually
done with irrelevant text, hidden text, using keywords on
each image, etc. Any place to just get that keyword in there
        one more time.

I used "keyword" 10 times in this post. People can use any words
they want from 0 to 100%. Yes, you can rank without your
intended keyword anywhere on your page. And that, my friends,
kills the myth once and for all.

So I guess there's really no guarentee then on getting your site to google's number 1 spot for a keyword.

Its kinda a problematic system which proves my point before...

How many times do you search a keyword and number 1, 2, or 3 spot is a total unreliable site with no good info. The site was just placed there due to "the luck of the draw". No relevance, etc. When the real site your looking for is on page 5 position 3.

I built my guitar site with the best intentions. I wanted to teach people to play guitar for free and help them out because i was sick of paying for expensive guitar lessons. I put months of content into the site, original everything built from the ground up. It just can't get indexed very high at all and hasn't been able to for 5 years. It's got great content and no one ever sees it. I'm not complaining, ha! Just reiterating that no matter how "intelligent" and "precise" google claims to be... it still has some major issues.

ps. Does anyone know how someone would make a reliable earning on micro niche sites then? or is that a thing of the past?
