Step by step plan to rank an EMD?

Hi all,

I hope you are all doing well. Would anyone here be kind enough to help me out a little bit? If I have an EMD which I want to rank in the top 3 of the SERPS on Google, would you mind sharing a "step by step plan" (or pointing me to one) for doing so? The keyword is about medium competition, not the highest but not the lowest either.

Over the years, I've read and absorbed a lot of information about many different IM topics, SEO being one of them. However, now that I am finally trying to take action and implement it all, I find myself to be kind of all over the place, confused, and a bit overwhelmed. If you want to see what I mean, see a thread called "How do I find my "passion"?? I don't like Anything?? I am stumped!" of mine in the main forum (sorry can't post links, you can just paste the title in Google real quick and it'll pop up).

I keep reading about social bookmarking, blog commenting, directory submissions, document sharing, youtube, this and that; but I would really like it if there was a step-by-step list to follow which laid out a plan saying "do this, now do that, now do that", etc.

Any help would be appreciated!

    Check that thread, the original post and the user comments below is all you'll need to rank for anything, not just EMD's.

    I keep saying this, one more can't hurt.

    It doesn't matter If you have an EMD, you rank web pages not domains.

    • EMD's are going down in efficiency these days.

      Google has released specific updates to nerf the advantage they used to have in the SERPs.

      Just stick to building high quality authoritative links and you'll be just fine.
  • Having an EMD definitely does help, but just put good content on it related to the KW and start building links to it with that anchor text, thats a pretty basic plan but is definitely a good place to start
