Blog networks must begin protecting the identity of their blogs from the mighty Google, and high PR blog sites are getting removed from the big G's database like an epidemic of avian flu on a cruise ship.

Yep. Figures this day would come where Google catches up to the PR blog networks. Something new will spring up in their place if they don't bounce back.

BMR seems to be at least partially hit.

I have a few sites that rely on them solely for links, they all took a drive of between 5 to 50 positions for keywords that were targeted.

However, the vast majority of my sites have varied sources of backlinks including BMR. They've all remained at the their exact same positions or increased.

In particular, the ones where I have done Yahoo Directory, DMOZ and PRWeb have seen the biggest increases.

Everything is circumstantial and people can't seem to see past this, because they're so jaded by these scare tactics that they put 1 and 1 together and get 9. I have websites, ones that i don't particularly care about, that rely solely on BMR and NONE of them have been hit.

I also have sites that rely on both BMR and other forms of backlinks that have not been hit either. The only drop i've seen recently was one of my websites ranking for a local term - which was due to the update Google introduced relating to local orientated websites.

tbh i hope you all carry on worrying about these blog networks, it means more value for me at the end of the day. Yes, the time may come when they're all redundant, but there will be similar services in their place that are niche specific and tighter regulations.

Retsek, please provide some form of proof that ALL of your sites that rely on them got hit. I'm willing to bet some money that you're overreacting to a degree at least.

Thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU.

One of my keywords for my site SOLEY on BMR is now ranked 1. I just hit it YESTERDAY that was rank 2 for a couple days and was rank 6 for weeks.

You are neglecting the fact that google may have missed you site. You act like that is not a logical option that could be happening but you act like you have the strategies set in stone. All you did was get lucky to not get hit. Get off your high horse.

I have sites that are still number 1 using all "spammy tactices" but that does not mean spammy tactics are not vulnerable to get spanked. I simply got lucky and if that is not the answer, there is not enough evidence to stick my chest out and pretend I know what I'm doing in a game that changes daily.

This is very true. It's so common for 'webmasters' to bash others when in reality, their time will dawn soon enough.

Even so-called white hat tactics are not immune to penalties. The game has changed and the tactics need to evolve to keep up. That said, bashing someone else for a mistake is bad form.

Its only because most of the blog networks use badly spun content and contain all single page blogs with that default wordpress first post not deleted. Its easy for google to follow footprints.

People, people, people. Easy attacking each other. the reality is that you can both be right. It is VERY rare for Google to take down an entire large network in one shot. So is it possible that some sites get hit and some people see a drop and some not?

ITS NOT ONLY POSSIBLE ITS LIKELY - Its the nature of how networks get deindexed.

So bottom line if you think sites for the service you have been using may have been hit then watch it. If you haven't then by all means chug a lug onward.

U mad bro? Your sites are the ones that are getting owned, not mine.

You didn't seem to comprehend the point I was trying to make, at NO POINT did I say that these networks aren't getting sites deindexed, I know for a matter of a fact that some of the top networks are getting sites deindexed - but you know what, this has been the case for years. Nothing new here.

Blog networks aren't going to be entirely deindexed, only the crappy ones that offer nothing to the web and leave obvious and rediculous footprints. There is a small chance that your sites were affected because they, their backlinking methods and content suck - though there is a small chance it's because services like BMR are getting owned by Google - I know which I'm more likely to believe.

Pay specific attention to the part where I say services LIKE BMR, not the crappy ones like ALN.

Truth is, a LOT of people are blaming the dance, sandbox, penalties or other random fluctuations on these blog networks. There is so much speculation that it's unreal - speculation is needed in order to keep Google on their toes, but people making conclusions based on unfounded rumours or evidence is becoming obsured.

That kind of taunting has no useful purpose. Frankly there are people who blame techniques and companies and then there are those who are in denial about things. No one who is involved in building or operating networks is saying what you are saying - that there is nothing new here. Yes sites have been deindexed in the past but that by no means equates to this is just old news. February DOES seem to indicate some new offensive by Google.

Is it likely with all the domains getting deindexed that two widely known networks closes their door to new members with no connection to the wide spread reports of deindexing in the last few weeks?

Whenever these discussions break out there is always some people like chicken little saying the end is near and the sky is falling and then there are those who play ostrich and stick their heads in the sand. None is better than the other. MY goodness you still have people out there that in that vein swear forum and profile link blasting is just fine and dandy and nothing much has changed - just get more links!

So lets quit the taunting and acting like because this person or that is not affected the other has no point and shouldn't be believed. This is a fluid situation but there is little doubt that some services have found themselves deindexed so there no telling what is what at this point.

From my newbie understanding, blog networks are setup in a way where they are sectioned out. Some accounts may be tied to certain sectors. Even if that is not the case, for people to act all snobby because they didn't get touched is a joke. Give me a break. Get over yourself. Let's have discussion about data and how to move forward with best practices. Nobody cares if you are ranked #1 unless you want to share specific strategies on how and why you got there. Saying you solely used bmr means nothing to me.

With thay said...I heard seolinkmonster got killed pretty bad. Killed as in all the links they acquired from beta testing are no longer indexed. Zero, zip, nada.

Okay on February 19th I did a track record of my sites

Today February 29th I did another track record. Same order (you can see the beginning of the letter)
      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...7/22292012.jpg

Notice the difference after 10 days?
Some of the keywords were pushed back into the higher rankings and that's because I wasn't pushing those keywords at all the past week. And then you see some keywords that weren't even ranked, are now ranked, and the one that was ranked 6 is now ranked 1.
Also - this is strictly STRICTLY STRICTLY using BMR.

It starts to become a hype that when your site is losing rankings that we blame the private blog networks automatically. The networks still work very well for me and none of my sites dropped. That highPRsociety closed for new members is only a good thing, especially for me as a service provider where high PR society plays a large role, though I've added 4 other networks to my services to vary it up.

I actually spread it out almost evenly. Maybe a bit more on a particular keyword that's close to ranking on the first page/rank 1.

      Exactly.

We're just closing HPS to protect the current members. Several networks have gotten nuked and it doesn't do anyone any good if it happens to us. Should the landscape change we may open it back up, but there are no plans for that at this point.

Thanks brother, we appreciate the support! It sounds like BMR was planning to close their doors already and it just happened to happen at the same time as some de indexing of their sites happened (De-indexing they were expecting and prepared for according to them)

So I don't think there is anything they need to recover from, just some bad luck on timing.

We don't know exactly who, we know something is going on. I personally, spoke a little too soon on a particular PR network I thought got smacked. I wan't even talking trash about them I just mentioned what I thought was common knowledge and then after talking with the owner, it appears to be a really bad coincidence.

I know its happening, but we can only speak for ourselves...so far we haven't got hit and we are closing our doors to new customers and taking the necessary steps to protect our current customers while we all figure this out.

    HKSEO Rotzee,

I have been subscribed to High PR Society for a few months. However my credit card expired recently and in view of this I am no longer being re-billed.

I tried to change the credit card details in the "Edit Billing Info & Subscription" page, however both the "Pay With PayPal" option and the "Pay With Credit Card" option are disabled. I did contact your support about this but they have been unable to help.

If possible I would like to change my subscription to pay with PayPal.

    Please advise.

    Thanks,

I tried to change the credit card details in the "Edit Billing Info & Subscription" page, however both the "Pay With PayPal" option and the "Pay With Credit Card" option are disabled. I did contact your support about this but they have been unable to help.

If possible I would like to change my subscription to pay with PayPal.

      Please advise.

      Thanks,

      James.
