Hello

It is high time that I have a website running since 2 years and still it is not earning a penny for me.

I humbly ask for advice on the strategy/tips/technique/method to follow.

There are 3 articles/posts at the moment.

The theme I am using is Hidden. should I change to something better?

What is the optimum width of the layout for adsense?

Please suggest your opinions.

thanks in advance

AJ

Well, it is hard to give you advice unless we know your keywords' stats (exact match searches, how many advertisers does it have, how much are people bidding on it, etc.).

    Yea, we need more info.

General rule of thumb is, you will need some unique + quality articles on your site. Make sure provide real value to your visitors. Optimised your onpage properly with plugins (if you using WP)

    Then start some backlink building

Even if your adsense layout was very poor, it'd still be pretty hard not to earn any money after 2 years if you were getting traffic.

My guess is that you have no traffic going to the site. Do some keyword research and see what terms would be best to drive traffic to your site. From there, start building high quality links for those keywords and see if you can get your traffic up.

Build traffic to your site. Depending on how competitive your niche is, you'll probably need between 500 and 1000 visitors a day to make $10.

    Traffic = adsense earnings.

I was going to say the exact same thing. One of my adsense sites averages about 400- 500 visitors a day and earns about $10- $20 per day.

      Bottom line... Get traffic.

Just 3 article won't earn you traffic/money. First you need to add more stuff on your site on regular basis. This will help you build slow but stable traffic for long run. and then (as Matt281 said: Traffic = Money) you may start earning something.

      Gosh, where to begin...

Your theme (i used to use that one) is busy and plastered with ads that hit you in the face (the home page anyway). I would remove that.

      You need KEYWORD TARGETED content.
      What ketwords are you targeting?
How many searches do they get per month?
How much competition do they have?
What SEO efforts have you made to rank those pages for those keywords?
Where are you currently ranked for them?

Basically, to make money with ads, you need traffic. It doesn't just show up naturally. You have to rank well for keywords to get decent traffic.

Do this...Learn about keyword research (everything you can) how to pick them, how to evaluate your competition... etc.

Choose some low competition keywords that get some decent traffic and have decent CPC. Write your content to target those keywords.

Then Learn about SEO and optimize that content. Build backlinks until you begin to rank well in google.

Practice this until you get good at it and when you start getting some decent traffic, then focus on adjusting your ads to get the best CTR that you can.

It is a simple process but it takes consistent work.

The site is nice, but you need to add a whole lot more content, 3 articles from over a year ago won't do much for you and it certainly won't keep people on your site for any length of time.

You really need to get rid of "Just Another Wordpress Site" and perhaps move your affiliate links from the top of the page down to the footer - If nothing else, try and get rid of all the default content that came with the theme. The overall feel that I get from the site is that you're still building it.

I'll throw you a bone. Try going to google trends and finding out what the hot topics are for the day. Then make a post about those topics and tweet it and post a link to it on a popular forum. Ping the forum post/mainpage. Give it a crazy title such as "Cellphone jammer up justin bieber's butt - rushed to hospital on birthday". I just mashed those words together based on the most popular search today.

see: Google Trends: cell phone jammer, Mar 2, 2012

Just make up the content and make it clear that it's a parody, not a real article.

Use a large adsense rectangle in the top left corner of your post.

Traffic is a key component to adsense success, and this is one way to get it.

      Hi
This is something I need to understand. How to find which is good paying keyword.
I can find keywords that have 3000 monthly search and check if the exact competion is around say 30000. But cant tell if that keyword is good paying keyword. Where to look ? is there any abreviations they go about?

      Regards

If all you have done in two years is write 3 articles/posts then you have been wasting you time. Shoot for 20 backlinks each day then backlinks for those backlinks the next day, then the next day add a 1000 word article to your site and repeat the process

Right, where to start.. blunt but not harsh..

Okay, so English clearly isn't your first language which isn't a problem, but it made my head hurt a little reading it so maybe you could consider getting someone to write some content for you. Doesn't have to be groundbreaking but just something that feels more englishy - if I came to your site as wanting to learn more about studying from home I would click back almost straight away which obviously is not good. You need at least decent content to keep them reading the page for a bit.

You need to do keyword research - if you are going for the keyword 'study from home' i imagine thats pretty darn difficult - however putting it through google keyword tool you will find easier keywords to target initially.

Domain name is decent enough. Theme can be edited (easily through the menus IIRC) to get rid of the big bar at the top which doesn't help show off what work you have done.

Backlinking - Either outsource it - or do some every day - Social Bookmarking, Forums, Yahoo Answers, Article Marketing, Blog Comments, High PR blog posts, Web 2.0 properties.

If you do want to achieve results then you have to sit down and work a plan out and stick to it.

If i were you with that domain I would hire someone to write 10 posts to begin with. Post one every 3 days targetting a different low competition keyword and then get someone to backlink it for me.

More research and dedication is all you need. Sites don't make money the day you put them up and they certainly don't make money if you don't put any work into it.

Patience is key, always remember that. Otherwise, you'll keep running in circles until you give it up altogether.

In reading this thread, i am surprise that there are still people that are having blog that contain 3 article post even after 2 years and are not aware of search engine changes such as google. Not to offend any body but in order to be earning good money using adsense program you really need more content that is more quality as by doing this will reduce your bounce rate and this important factor alone could make an impact on your website ranking especially on google.

My advice is try to make more article post on your blog, at least 10 or more articles, if you trying to get traffic from search engine, your on page and off page also plays apart too and not to mentioned keyword research is important too.

OP: Are you just talking about one website? If so, why are you setting your sights so low? $10 per day is nothing unless it's part of an overall strategy (Walmart approach). You should be asking how to make $250 or $500 per day MINIMUM and you will get better quality answers.

    Hi,

I'm not sure whether I'm qualified enough to help you.
The conditions I use for my kewyords are these :

Minimum 1900 exact local(USA/UK) search/month (Find it in google keyword tool external)
Minimum 1.5$ cpc + more than 5 advertisers (find it at SEMrush)
Most of the pages (like more than 7) at the top ten result have PR less than 3
no pages at the top 10 result have PR more than 6
Most of the pages (like more than 7) at the top ten result have backlinks less 500
Some pages don't have match keywords on their title
    etc
    etc

I usually am able to rank to the first page for any keyword which satisfies those points in less than 2 months without any paid backlinks, scrapebox or any software (just free, yet boring and repetitive manual backlinking everyday)

    $10 a day formula

20 websites with 20 pieces of content EACH site - all content highly optimized for the keywords you've chosen.

choose keywords with low comp and search volume and CPC values that will make money. The above parameters seemed good to me

1900 exact local monthly searches with > $1.50 est. cpc

and his competition filters seemed good too ...

More sites in the right niches for the right keywords and simply put - a LOT MORE work.

Seriously bro ... 3 pieces of content in 2 years? 1 web site? Making $$$ online takes a lot of work upfront - but after thats done and done right - it just keeps spitting out cash.

Use the info's in this thread and read others adsense successes and ... get to work.

Here's the element thats missing from your formula .... W-O-R-K.

    Good luck ...

And to get traffic, you need content. More content means more really long-tail keywords you have on your site that only a few people search for, but as your site grows it really adds up. Also, it never hurts to do some backlinking.
