Hi all,

What is a good program or online tool for generating lists of long tail key terms?

I'm currently using Google's keyword tool, but I want something more than what they generate.

Thanks!

I'm using Ultimate Niche Finder and I love it! Highly recommended for finding loads of potential keywords! If you need deeper kw research though I'd pick MarketSamurai or LongTailPro!

I use Market Samurai and love it. What's even better is that it's a one-time fee rather than monthly.

I also have the paid Wordtracker, but haven't actually used it as much as Market Samurai. For quick long-tail keywords, you can use their free tool. It just won't give you as much information.

Once you get the hang of a Google Suggestion scraper you'll start discovering a TON of long-tail keywords. I use Scrapebox, but I've used the above and it works well.

You can turn 10 keywords into 20,000+ if you go a few levels deep.

I use this, it's an amazing tool, allows you to tweak a bunch of settings so you'll only find keywords within the scope you're looking for.

Not going to give you a ton of really long tails.

You need a suggestion scraper. There are plenty of free ones. I wouldn't use a paid tool for this unless it could give me search counts. At the moment I'm importing thousands of long tails using a suggestion scraper (Scrapebox) into the Google Traffic Estimator.

Forgot to mention "Keyword Zombie" is free and can be downloaded from Free Cloud Storage - MediaFire

Site is down though. Used to be @ www.seohades.com

I've used it in the past and it's pretty powerful.

Hey, personally, when it comes to keyword scrapers.. I have tried a bunch of tools out there, but none of them really provided what I needed.

I have developed a personal keyword research method after a lot of documentation in this field... and I needed a fully customizable hands free keyword scraper.... but unfortunately I couldn't find any tool that provided customization options.

So I started developing my own keyword scraper a few weeks ago... and so far I'm very pleased of the results. I'm doing a stress test at the moment. I have the option to scrape from 5 different sources at the same time and I also implemented a backup system... in case something goes wrong I can continue where it last did the backup. Also I implemented an auto export feature through which it autoexports results to different files at a user defined rate.

With the current options implemented I am able to literally scrape millions of unique niche keywords at the push of a button without fearing of data loss... but of course this amount of scraping can take weeks. and I don't really care as long as I don't have to babysit it at all

My free keyword software in my signature can pick up hundreds of keywords that are long tail and usually are not found within google keyword tool (the long tail ones). Check it out, it is great for PPC advertisers and generating niche ideas.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I thought I'd mention that I found a download link @ SEOHadesKeywordZombie.zip

The site itself has been down for a few months now. So it looks like the tool is no longer actively developed. (Shame, because it was shaping up to be a REALLY good tool.)

Just do the standard virus scan since it's a MediaFire link and not from the author's site itself.

Long Tail Pro works good and saves a lot of time, on my opinion. But if you don't want to spend money, Traffic Travis is good choice, too.

Huh...Didn't notice that it was password protected. (Don't think it was when I posted the DL link.)

There are other free tools that are similar floating around. I just really liked Keyword Zombie. It's a shame that the developer seems to have dropped the project. (Domain is expired and download link is dead.)

As far as free "long-tail" keywords tools that I've tried, nothing came close.

If you're willing to spend the money Scrapebox has the function built-in. (Plus a ton of other abilities.)

According to me a good example of a long tail keyword niche is here and it demonstrates another concept called keyword ladder. Long tail keywords will not have has many searches as the more popular keyword and this is where thorough research is required.Free long tail keyword tools: 1) Wordtracker free keyword tool,2) Trellian free keyword tool,3) Traffic Travis,4) Spy fu.
