SEO Url Strategy

Hello,

I've launch DooNow website 6 months ago > doonow.com/fr/ (actually in french version only)

I'm now adjust design & stategy and i have a question concerning url:

What's the best url strategy for SEO?

fr.drague.doonow(dot)com/sexualite/comment-etre-une-bete-au-lit
en.health.doonow(dot)com/longevity/how-to-live-untill-100-years

or maybe more classical :

doonow(dot)com/fr/drague/sexualite/comment-etre-une-bete-au-lit
doonow(dot)com/en/health/longevity/how-to-live-untill-100-years

The website will have around 7 main categories - in 5 languages. Actually it's work on Wordpress.

  • I'd stick with what you've done, and build out en/health/ as a peer to fr/drague. If you're moving fr/ down to fr/drague, be sure to do your 301s right.

    But I'd be very interested to hear if anyone's tested these two approaches.

  • If you are trying to appeal to the French consumer, then stick to your .fr domain. Only if you are targeting the American consumer should you consider switching to a dot com.
