Failed at analyzing competition level

Hey,
I just realized that I have failed to analyze one of my adsense site top 10 competition level on google.
IN TOP 10 google - They are all subpages, with PR1-4, but the main domains are PR6-PR9. I'm completely stuck in the 9th position and I have spent already $100 on contextual backlinks services + my own manual backlinking for link diversity. However, the top 3 spots are videos and 2 of them are youtube videos, so I thought that they are EAAZYY to outrank, but seems like not.
- My on-page SEO is OK
Should I try more or just give up? I have calculated that If I get nr1 position in google I will generated ~200$+ with adsense, but I'm not sure if it's worth the time and money to be spent in it..
