Hi Warriors,

What are 2 important tools you can not build and run effectively an Adwords Campaign with out it .

For me , the two important tools are :

1. keywords suggestion tool ;

2. competition analysis tool.

  • I would say,

    1. wordze or something similar
    2. speed ppc or something similar
  • Thanks for starting this thread. I'm curious to see what other people say.

For me, it's the two you mentioned.

I check to see how many times the keyword is searched on average per month for the year.

    And...

I check how much competition the keyword has.
  • Please tell me where you get the competition analasys tool ?

I have been using spyglass but I am not entirely happy with it

    • Adwords editor is mostly used as adwords accounts management tool. It is great time savor .

      Mike
  • My friend is telling me the google tool isnt that accurate for alot of the keywords and that you actually need to do some adword ad research urself to get a more accurate reading.

    • I had been using spyglass and spyfu, is there any useful tool that we can use aside from these?

  • I would prefer to use SpeedPPC and KeywordSpy.

These are two different tools with different functions but it is really important and save me a lot of time for conducting research as well as creating Adwords Campaign.

      Mike
  • I am mixing up everything to get an idea ... like adwords external tool to get idea about the price and search and traffic. With such keywords I use google search to see how many sponsored links at there ... and after that some my undisclosed tricks as well so far they are really effective.
  • Well, I am biased and I'm not sure I can even recommend something of my own but if interested just check out my signature....

I created Affiliate Espionage because I got sick of staring at search results all day long trying to figure out who all my competitors were and what they were doing, now every thing is right in the search results.

    • Jeremy... looked at your info and it seems similiar to PPC Spy the Callen offering. How would you compare AE with that?

I'm bidding in Google keywords in the US market, but I currently live in Asia. Browser-based software for viewing Adwords usually fails for me because the US advertisers don't specify the country I am in while viewing.

the IP address wontl deliver US Adwords

Would you have an advice on that issue?
  • Market Samurai is really good for analyzing keyword competition. Its also good for analyzing keyword volume. I use WordButler for keyword suggestions.
  • I also use Wordbutler I love it..Great tool

  • Same here. Beside of that to ease the work of posting very big campaign which contain for example over 20 ad groups I would use Adwords Editor. Very great tool

  • PPC Bully for competitive analysis.

Just interviewed Emil Paz of PPC Bully, in case you're interested in hearing their strategy. Click on my signature below for access.
  • Just a comment on keywordspy. i have tried it several times to check my sites, but their organic search results data always seems to be inaccurate. I've compared their results with the actual results in SE's and they're pretty badly out sometimes. I think they get it right 50/50.

    • Hello,

I believe the Adwords Keywords Tool is not very good when it comes to search volume of keywords.

I think Keyword Country is better.

Anyway i am still feeling my way around.

    • Keyword Elite has been pretty useful for building keyword lists for my adgroups. I don't use the list straight out of KE, but it digs up a lot of keywords I would have never thought of.

    • 1. KeywordSpy
      2. SpeedPPC
      3. AdWords Editor

Something else that I've just started using with some of my keyword lists is MSN adCenter's "Commercial Intention" tool. John Jonas has developed a free automated tool for using this adCenter service.(The download link is at the bottom of the blog post that I linked to) It's a huge time-saver.

This being my first post, I can't post links yet. So, here are the URLs:

  • I think this depends very much on your budget and your level of expertise.

For newbies who don't have a lot of money, I'd say:

Google Keyword Tool - in my opinion the best free keyword research tool
AdWords Editor - makes your life much easier (especially due to the bulk upload feature) & is also free.

Other great tools are KeywordSpy & speed PPC - but they are a bit expensive and I think they aren't absolutely necessary for a newbie.

And yes, I also like my own PPC campaign builder tool a lot ;-)
  • I used and KeywordSpy.
  • Good advice.
  • Good thread.
  • My favorite Adwords Tools are the following :

    1) Micro Niche Finder
    2) Keyword Elite

    Thanks and Goodbye.

  • PPC Web Spy ..still:p haha
  • Guys,

Thanks alot for the tools, I have personally checked them out and I could see how useful they would be especially speedppc...

I have a question pls., I am just trying to checkout how CPA would work for me, I have already been accepted into 3 CPA networks. However I understand that with PPC but without the tools to have a good CTR and CR then you could be out of business i.e spending too much on ads vs ROI.

Are the following tools really what paying for and could I get an alternative for it...?

    1. speedppc
    2. any of the spy keyword tools.

I would really appreciate your concern guys.....

    Thanks
