Could someone please explain to me the difference
between manual and automatic backlinks?

Also, one SEO expert told me he would build 150
manual backlinks for me for just $5. Is it really possible
for these to all be manually created backlinks?

    Manual: Generally by hand.
Automatic: Using a tool such as Scrapebox, for example.

$5 is pretty low for that many "manual" links. Though I don't know what type of links they are.

Anything is possible as you probably know by now, and this SEO guy that you speak of could be doing a promotion to sell you on the backend, possibly. Manual back linking typically refers to utilizing a piece of software that automates tasks associated with third-party websites essentially speeding up the process of submission. Manual submission refers to the opposite such as not using any tool to do these tasks.

Automated backlinks are normally built by a software such as SENuke X and manual backlinks are created by humans i.e posting relevant/insightful comments in blogs and forums something automated software cannot do. Manually created links are preferred by major SE's such as Google since they are considered to be 'natural' and not rapidly created links by an automated software.

To answer your question there is no difference between a manual and an automatic backlink assuming both are from a quality, dofollow source relevant to your site. Automatic obviously saves time. Google doesn't know if the link was made by a bot or by a human but it does know what quality the link has, how many other outbound links etc...

The problem with automatic links is that people tend to get lazy or greedy and spam the crap out of irrelevant, low quality nofollow sites in the hope that it will do them some good and that is all wrong.

There is nothing wrong with using a tool to automate things for you, it's just learn to use the tool properly and create quality links rather than the junk that most other people end up getting.

In automated submission SEO tools are used to submit website to the directories. In many cased website is marked as Spam in automated submission. So, most better way of submission is manual.

I don't think that anybody will write MANUALLY 150 comments for $5.00.. They would use ScrapeBox, I am almost 85% sure

Yes, it is possible.. he will 'manually' double-click the SENuke or Scrapebox icon and 'manually' copy/paste an article in there, then 'manually' push the submit button
