Adsense not Showing Relevant Ads ...

I'm writing on fitness and nutrition but the Ads coming up are based on games, nursing and other irrelevant stuff ... how do I change this so I have more relevant ads?

  • If your website keywords or page keyword is not proper put. your Google adsense not show you relevant ads.
  • I cant remember EXACTLY where you go, but if you log into your Adsense account, theres an option (somewhere) that lets you select what sort of niches you want the ads to display.

    Just find that, then un-check the ones that arent relevant.

  • lol sorry, no idea.. They banned me last year so I cant check. But I know its in there somewhere. I had to do it for a few of my sites.

    It's in the "allow & block ads" bar on the top left.Go into general categories and block the categories that you don't want showing on your site.

    Alternatively, you can go to Advanced Settings and try turning off Interest-Based ads, which shows ads to users based on their web history. So if they are always visiting finance websites, Google may display finance related ads even if they visit your health site.
  • Man you've got 3000+ posts and you don't know that yet???...The ads will show up are based in your web history, so don't worry, if people are looking for what is on your site,that's what will appear in the ads, but make sure you've got advertisers on your niche/keywords otherwise google will put somethng else.

    Now we all know you've been looking for some keywords on game, nursing...

      "3,000 posts and don't know that about Adsense???" I could have 15,000 and no nothing about a number of things relevant to IM. It's called specialization. There are a lot of things I do not know but there are some things that I do have a pretty good grasp on. It has worked for me well so far. This is a community where people help one another and we all ask questions from time to time. Hope that clears it up for you.

    Lots of posts doesn't mean Adsense expert.
    Maybe he's been doing other things and just recently tried Adsense?

      Anyway, it may take a while for relevant ads to show up.

      Remember, relevant is relative. What you think your
      site is about and what google thinks it is, may be
      two different things. Pay attention to title, h1 tag, and
      any words you bold. The content of an article is not
      as relied upon as much as people think.

      You may have some negative keywords overemphasized
      or double meaning words.

      Adwords users just don't bid on your page just because.
      They have to have a reason. Many times, nobody is
      bidding, so google puts global ads on your page.

      Best to block as little as possible.

      Google is getting very, very personal as of late.
      They are putting more and more ads to cater a
      visitor's past tastes.

      That may mean that ads that look irrelevant to you won't
      even show up anyway.

      Err on the side of letting google decide.

      Blocking ads is actually counterproductive, although
      many people claim the opposite.

      Every ad that shows that you block, was bidding
      and won a slot. Block those, and the lower bidders
      get in. People forget that.
