What exactly are unnatural links

Since apparently Google fails at solving this simple problem and instead opts to punish webmasters who have no control over it. What exactly are "unnatural" links according to google? are they links on blogs that aren't revelant to your site, is it acquiring too many backlinks via blogs or whatever else too fast? Is is backlinks from auto approve blogs? I don't expect google to give any answers, they like to be quiet and just punish people for violating the rules that they weren't made away of, like some sick twisted joke by those in power(please bing and other search engines rise up and get rid of google dominance) So i'm asking you fine folks. Thanks.

They're basically links that Google suspects you purchased.

This. One of the ways Google detects this is when folks refuse to diversify their anchor text. Mix it up.

What about no anchor text? Or it's the same as the link

Unnatural links are links that are built rapidly in large quantities and in most cases these are links that are built by automated software.

See that really bugs me, because when i start my backlink campaign that means there's a possibility google could punish me for getting too many links too fast. I do mine manually but still.

I worry about the same stuff. The way google want it, that you build a great content that people will link to it for free. Because its "oh so" great.

But wake-up. It doesn't work like that. Webmasters are not morons, most of the time they are companies, and only thing that they want, is cash and cash. So the one who pays to have a link or article published will be their. And the great site wont be their.

And then again we come to the point that google forbids you to pay for backlinks. So you have 2 choices.

    1. Wait 2 light years for some hippie, who has no life, accidentally finds your website on page 7. Has a accidentally an authority website, doesn't know he can earn money with his website, and links to you for free.

    2. Plays games with Google, and get lucky or be hit.

Its one BS system right now. Just getting really tired of this.

DAMN YOU, GOOGLE TORTILLAS, YOU RANK WITH SITES WITH BACKLINKS, BUT THEN AGAIN WE MAY NOT USE OUR MONEY TO BUY BACKLINKS. DAMN YOU COMMUNIST GUACAMOLE COMPANY, LET OR LET US PAY LIKE A FREE MARKET FOR OUR BACKLINKS, OR REMOVE BACKLINKS AS MEASUREMENT FOR RANKING.

Not yet, but come one we can all agree, its just really frustrating. They measure with backlinks, but we may not use "cash". Well the free market works like that, you can get stuff with cash. What else can I give them, love or something, wtf damn you google.

These links are seen as "AUTO" created.. Such as some backlinks from ScrapeBox.. You could avoid this by posting comments or build backlinks manually!

Google does not hate paid links.
      Never have, never will.

Their whole empire is based on paid links.

      Wish people would actually read.

The only unnatural link definition they have
ever given, is getting thousands of links
with the same anchor text in a "short" time,
      or even long term.

But not every anchor gets slammed. Must be spammy.

Like, Make money online. Or some other spamzola.

It comes in many flavors. If your anchor text is meant
to spoof, con, mislead, brag, etc. and you use the
      same line over and over.

      You are a spammer.

Now if I make a zillion links with something mundane, like
      resources for mothers, no problem.

The heart of people's problems here is actually remarkably simple.

Why do you think grandma and her knitting blog are never in danger
of getting deindexed? Because shmoozing google is not even part
of her mentality. She has no idea what that is.

      What is your mentality?

You have to actually work at pissing off google. It does
      not come naturally.

Here's newsflash for people. Google does not know if you paid
for a link. They do not know if you automate backlinking. They
don't care how fast you build them.

Now sit back, take a deep breath, and actually recite to yourself
what google actually knows and hates.

Unnatural links are any links you built my hand basically. If they're not given by merit then they're deemed unnatural. So any linking service you buy here is and always has been against google TOS.

Building links from profiles, spam comments, ****ty article marketing only works for the short term. If you want to build a long lasting site do something amazing that is worthy of being linked to.

What? Google whines about "quality" content then according to you punishes for it? The only blogs that accept my comments are ones that deem my content worthy of allowing, otherwise they would deny. I also don't do anchor text. Google is seriously twisted if that's what their TOS says they punish for that.

Here's the real issue. There are hundreds of thousands of people around the world that want to make money quick. They think up a business/scheme, create a website, and then want to be on page 1 of Google ASAP. So they look for services promising to rocket them to the top. Google's intention is to provide results that rank long-standing businesses with good/useful content and services/products up top. The example about the hippy is understood but demonstrates the exact impatience I'm talking about. If you are impatient then unfortunately you will need to pay Google (and others) for advertising - unless you have some incredible invention that goes viral. LOL

If your product/service is in a pretty obscure niche, then trying to game the Google organic SERPS is an option, but you're still rolling the dice.
