I have not been implementing social bookmarking at all into my seo campaign.

my question:

what is the inherent benefit of social bookmarking and how should i do it? should i bookmark each post, page, etc on my site seperately or just bookmark the entire site and call it a day?

    It's just another form of backlinking. I don't know what you mean by bookmarking the entire site. You mean making a bookmark to the homepage?

    Because bookmarking to your homepage doesn't bookmark the entire site. It just bookmarks the homepage.

  • I use socialadr for all my bookmarking it is good value because real people bookmark your site with there own accounts. Very natural linking.

    IMO, they hold very little weight anymore. That being said, I still use them for two reasons:

    1 - they help my new pages get indexed quickly

    2 - the increase backlink diversity

    I've been using either Automated Submission to Social Media Sites | OnlyWire, or 'Socialbot'.

      basically they are nice for getting casual "breaking news" crazed surfers but if you have anything to offer or sell, they are about useless
  • How long does it take for these bookmarks to show up as backlinks? I paid for a good fiverr gig that bookmarked my main page and a deep link last week. but none are showing up on alexa or on my google webmaster's page.

  • The biggest social bookmarking sites does not give dofollow backlinks. But there are several smaller but more beneficial social bookmarking sites. I suggest to use them as well.

  • We just use it to get indexed faster and to increase our link diversity a little. I don't actually think they are that important. I'll probably test this theory soon.

  • I don't think they have any link value...But social bookmarks do provide good amount of traffic...
  • You're going to want to book mark each page you want to rank for in SERPS. Sorry, like always it the hard way to do it right.
