Hi,

First off, thanks for taking the time to check this thread out. After spending time making a plan of attack and then a month executing it i'd like to know what the experts here think who have so much more experience.

I've bought a number of sites here but as with most, the content was a little thin and i didn't bother checking the keyword competition much when agreeing to them, i was pretty green and only checking the CPC and exact competition. i've read a lot about SEO but worry that its outdated or i haven't done enough of it.

Will be a bit of a long post but better to get it all out there so i can talk it through. Website is only couple of months old.

**Half way through typing i had to edit out my webpage, never thought about it effecting my adsense account if people went there and it picked up abnormal activity or anything. I can PM it to you**

When you check this keyword out its below 10k exact and has an ok pay and at least 1000 searches. I dont really care about giving this away at this stage as i'll learn a lot more through this thread hopefully.

Site came with 100 links so i let it sit for 2 weeks before i did anything. I got the 'honeymoon' period and it was on page 1 when searching for "KEYWORD" through google, couldn't really find it on a general search without the quotes.

It came with 3 articles just over 500 words each.

Once i noticed the links coming through decided my plan of action so i ordered 6 articles from odesk for the keyword and related keywords.I put 3 on the site to bring it up to 6 spread out over a couple of weeks. I put one on ezine, goarticles , amazines and made one myself for articlebase i think its called.

I set up an Senuke X campaign on the homepage with variations of the keyword and ran variation of the 3 way attack over some dedicated proxies , 4 accounts and 10 days period.

I also setup a new website Senuke campaign on each inner page as it was published spread over 7 days and a couple of accounts.

I ordered a manual open link wheel of 2.0 which 3000 forum backlinks supporting it from fiverr and then tweaked the web 2.0 ones.

Ordered by edu and high pr for the main site , got 257 edu and 737 pr5 blog comments

Built my own blogs on wordpress and about 5 web 2.0 properties pointing to my site and each other some of the time.

Ordered some more articles, spun these and ordered some UAW , Article Ranks , SEOLinkVine submissions all pointing to my article directories or web 2.0 properties.

I pulled all my links together and put them in linkolicious , prob about 15k with all the forum profile crap but these are going through about 50 a day.

My onsite SEO is all good , rate about 80% on SEO Pressor , dont want to overdo it. Have an external link to authority, video, image and internal links using keyword and keyword variation. Headers and all original content.

I might be beating a dead horse with this one or i'm only scratching the service of what's needed. I've got 8 other sites I'd like to get ranked and decided to put my effort into this one first to get a rankable plan.

All the WSO's these days seem to be about Onpage and fiverr gigs they use

Well that aint working. Over the next week i'm going to create the social media site of SEO i've been reading about and trying that.

Last time i checked i'm on page 3 for "KEYWORD" , nowhere searching for it without quotes that i can find.

      O.M.G.

      A bullet is cheaper...

Don't fall into the trap of just going by general advice. Every estimate regarding number of links to safely create within a fixed timeframe is based on:
      - The age of your site
      - The quality of content on your site
      - The amount of content on your site
      - The amount of existing links/activity
      - The pattern of linking

Obviously, a brand new website that has zero backlinks and only 1 page of content will NOT do well if it suddenly gets 1,000 backlinks within 3 days.

Google's staff is smart... but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that is NOT a natural SEO pattern.

Alternately, if you have an aged website with tonnes of content and thousands of backlinks, 1,000 new links in 3 days may not be too bad.

Here's a basic guide that I like to follow:

Safe Approach (new site, little content, few existing backlinks)
Add max of 10 backlinks per day

Standard Approach (existing site, decent content, 300+ existing backlinks)
Add max of 25 backlinks per day

Aggressive Approach (aged site, extensive content, 1,000+ existing backlinks)
Add max of 100 backlinks per day

That said - everything about SEO depends on so many different elements of your website, the quality of your backlinks and your competition that it is hard to generalize.

If you are just looking for a starting point then the guide above will probably help

Overkill dude. You are pounding way too many links at one time. The search engines are going to think you're a spamming site of sorts.

I do 15 links a day. I do a quick blitz when I first launch the site to get it indexed quickly. Typically I have my site on the 1st page in about 2 weeks. And from what I can tell about all the stuff you bought...it probably doesn't cost me as much.

Just scale back your linking a bit.

SEOpressor...80% Really? Up it to 100% There's a reason why the software has that grading ability. I never publish a post/page without 96% or higher.

So fix your score. Scale back on your linking. 15 a day is plenty and it'll seem natural. Any more than that and you're just shooting yourself in the foot.

    Best wishes,

    Shane

Sorry, i put in the wrong info. It was 5k backlinks but 3k of these were part of the fiverr gig which pointed to a manually created web 2.0 link wheel which then pointed back to my site.

I'm taking the 2 layer approach which i've seen a lot and after initially seeing it from smartpassiveincome.com.

I have my articles, web 2.0 properties and some edu/gov and high PR links pointing to my site. This is the inner layer. Then i send all my mass submissions to these pages.

I only have 90 odd backlinks to my home page, everything else is a few layers deep, same with my senuke campaigns. Forums profiles pointing to web 2.0 and social network which end up pointing at my site.

Hope that clears it up and thanks for any advice.

I'll up my SEOpressor scores as well.

Whatever's done is done.....Google might be testing you so you need to scale back a bit and get a consistent amount of backlinks everyday from good sources. If possible get involved in blog commenting etc and get some high value backlinks going to your site now - Your site will gradually improve and get back to where it was. Remember you're not the first one and won't be the last one so it has happened to all of us - you just need to be patient.

Add more high quality content and get your on-site SEO right (you should be concerned about not overdoing your off-site seo which is link building but your on-site seo should be spot on). Also make sure that you don't fill up your site's content with the keywords you're targeting as it looks spammy.

Google is now giving more importance to on-site factors & out of which contents & ads are the most decisive factors. I must say, in your case, that due to thin content your site might be affected. I'll suggest you to add good quality content in the site with keywords in the contents, it'll help a lot.

Regarding the campaign of link building, I don't think Google is giving weightage to links in spun articles, so I'll advise you to not use spun articles for link building. Make your promotion in such a way that Google will find it natural.

  • You may want to double check and make sure all of your content is good content and good quality. Try some article submissions and blog commenting. The way Google is head hunting these days, you do not want to be caught slipping.

Making that many backlinks can get you into trouble. The site is not so old so that many backlinks on a site that is still relatively new can look suspicious to Google

Well after all of the above I added in more content and got all the onpage SEO to a very high standard. Ordered a fiverr gig for article submission of 20 a day over a couple of months to the homepage and started adding in tons of videos as posts related to the niche.

Now sitting 2nd in google.co.uk and 7th in google.com and getting around 30 visitors a day and i'm kind of shocked and can't believe this is working. $1-$2 a day with adsense and i'm off the line.

Need to look over all i've done the last 7 weeks as i haven't even started the social side of things on the site, I bet I can increase visitors and hits on other keywords once I start that.

As this is the first income through adsense i got i'm now going to look at flippa and get my investment back and onto the next one. Hopefully a lot more smoother and streamlined , then a WSO , only kidding.

Thanks for the advice and maybe I'll update how the flippa site goes but thats a while away as i need to learn how to transfer a site first, offer that as BIN bonus or something at $300. If i made $300 i would have doubled my money.

      Thanks for the advice again.
