I removed all paid links but my rankings aren't back yet.

My 2 month old site recently got tanked by Google. I was building links primarily through BMR and web 2.0 sites but I think I used a bit too much BMR and my all my rankings disappeared.

And once my rankings disappeared I removed all my BMR links. However, my rankings have still not been restored.

Right now, I don't have a single paid link pointing to my site.

Isn't removing bad backlinks suppose to restore your rankings? Will resubmitting to Google help?

Any help is appreciated.

All the pages which had your links should get re-indexed by Google, so that it can identify the paid backlinks of your site has been removed. The position of your site will be changed only after re-indexing.

So are you saying after Google re-indexes the BMR sites, then my rankings will return?

      100% agreed with rosemark
We always suggest people to use manual services instead of automatic one. You site can be penalized by Google if they found paid linking.

Instead of removing all your BMR links you could have left it untouched. As yours is a 2-month old site, the ranking might return after few days or weeks. Now removing all the links only adds to inconsistency in building links.

I suggest you concentrate on other activities like building content and social campaigns which can help your site in getting the rankings back. If people like your site, google likes your site too.

If you remove all the links then your site will not come back to where it previously was.

You have removed all the links that were giving it the rankings.

To be clear, OP did not remove the links which were giving the rankings, he removed the BMR links which made the rankings disappear.

I'll suggest that keep making high quality back links from high PR & high quality sites and also from variety sources to get back ranking. Google has changed its algorithm in the last of February, so you were affected by it.

Only removing paid links will not be completely helpful for you, you need good quality back links to achieve rank too.
