Just got my adsense disabled for invalid clicks, yet I did do anything wrong.

Hi guys,
My adsense account just got disabled for invalid clicks, I have never ever clicked on my own ads or broken any of the TOS for that matter. I got click bombed last week and reported the suspicious activity to google almost immediately. I've just submitted an appeal, and google says that I will have to wait a week or more before I get a result.

This whole thing has really shaken me up as I rely on my adsense as a significant part of my income and I have always been soooo careful to follow googles TOS to a t.

Anyway thought I would share this as it seems that click bombing is still alive and working. I will get back to yous with what google's out come is.

It will be interesting to see if google really protects their publishers from these kind of attacks.

  • I wish you luck. I think it's a good thing that you notified them right away.

I know of another person who went through the same thing, and he was cleared (but it took quite awhile). He not only notified Google, but he also pulled all his ads until he could find out what was going on.

    • I know 2 people that got banned last night too. Both got an invalid click email.
      Sorry to hear that man.
  • I just got banned from google adsense too yesterday for the same reason...

Yesterday wasn't a good day for adsense users..

    • Banned
Actually yesterday was a very good day ($$) for me & I'm an Adsense publisher.

My Adsense/Feedburner email list is doing very well.

My brother is kicking butt with Youtube/Adsense (very consistent earnings).

My point is, just because a few people have a problem with their Adsense accounts, doesn't mean everyone is having the same problem.

Chances are the traffic source is what's killing Adsense accounts.
      • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Nowadays, google started to ban accounts in bunch and not delivering proper reasons, that shows how they love their publishers...

Just move on to CPA or affiliate programs, that would be better way to make money and even more than adsense!
  • Google, Can Ban your accounts pretty easily. You should be fine, though if you didnt do any ill play. Then again it's google that can ban you on just suspicion.
  • Take it as a blessing in disguise, I've been down that road, lost almost $1900 finalized earnings. I work with other companies, and I have people I can actually speak to if there are any issues, no hidden agendas. Don't get me wrong, there are people making a lot of money with adsense but I sleep better at night not having to deal with them anymore.
There have been a lot of innocent people banned, and even some very reputable bloggers that were screwed over too. Whatever happens, use this as a warning sign to diversify, best of luck!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Google will protect the advertisers WAY before they side with the publisher. Rightfully so. The advertisers is where Google makes all its money. Publishers are a dime a dozen and if they detect any suspicious activity they will play it safe and just ban your account. If every publisher in the world had just 1 invalid click a month that would probably cost Google Millions a month. So they have to be strict. Sometimes suspended accounts can happen to innocent people but Google has very sophisticated ways to detect click validity and I would say 9x out of 10 the publisher broke TOS somehow. I highly doubt you will get your account back. You can get another account if you have an LLC to register it under.
  • Just keep at it, I'm sure you can get unbanned if you let them know right away. Its unfortunate but it happens!
  • Adsense bans every day hundreds (or thousand!) of users... In some cases WITHOUT any reason.. I think you should forget about them and begin with another one... Adsense lost about 75% of their users last year... And this process will continue!

    • So if google bans most of its publishers while at the same time making it hard for new publishers signing up... what are they trying to do? What is the future of adsense?

I know that they are pushing very had to get more advertisers. Everytime I log into adwords they call me and and try to talk me into using adwords even though I always show no actual interest in it.
      • [3] replies

    • How did you come up with 75%?
    • I would call bull**** on that number. Do you have a source?
  • Yep, I got banned yesterday too. I've been moving away from Adsense anyway because your account can be banned at any time for whatever reason they want to give. Moving on.....
  • The thing is, in threads like these you only hear from the dolts that screwed up their adsense accounts. For all of those there is a huge unheard population that find adsense provides a worthwhile return for their content.

I'd never rely on it, but it's great source to tap into right now.
  • Sorry for you, but it's not your fault!! In 2012 Google decide to destroy it's own business with all his updates, Panda and more.. Stay Tuned!!

    • I have worked out a new business model... BUY GOOGLE PUT OPTIONS!!!
  • I got banned today too for the same reason. Did appeal but won't matter. Oh well...nothing can be done.

  • Dont be sad my fellow warrior :p... I have feel what you feeling now.. But I Make a Conclusion with online marketing...

    1. Dont think adsense is only one gold mind in make money online
    2. Be Positive
    3. Try with other Way (Pink Hat or Blue Hat )
    4. Pray

Thats it,,, And You always happy although You Have problems...

    Chayo.....
  • Even though google doesn't owe anything to you the worse part is when you house their ads on your site, they finalize your earnings and they pull a few days before you are suppose to get paid.

The funny thing is I keep reading about how sophisticated google is, and I hate to break it to you, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

When I was banned from google adsense, I was following the terms religiously. I had an account for several years and had even been paid by them before.

After my aprox. $1900 finalized earnings were taken away, appeal denied, and being completely left in the dark I did some investigation.

I found other websites with less content (some with really crappy content), same adsense layout still there for months at a time.

Even one of my competitors has a big freaking title/sign above his adsense ads saying other medical websites.

It just makes me cringe that he has been able to maintain that adsense for months with that obvious violation of the TOS.

So to set the record straight, don't give them more credit then they deserve. It's only a matter of time before adsense loses its lead in the markets.

For myself, one of the outlets I took was through educational leads. I have someone I can directly call, IM, at business hours that manages my account, lets me know when there are issues, etc.

That is the legitimate way you do a business, and if you want to make it in this industry that is the type of professional relationships you should build.

As for everyone chasing the adsense dream, sure it can be there, it may last for you, but you are highly at stake for waking up in the morning to that dreaded message.

I am personally glad to get that garbage off my website, things look a lot more professional, if anyone has been banned and needs any advice where to turn, feel free to PM me.
  • i agree, i got banned last night as well. i was extremely careful with my adsense sites. they banne me because one of my sites did not receive emails. they are looking for reasons to bann us. they totally suck.....
i am moving on to blogs and cpa. there are other adsnese providers other than google.
  • My appeal has failed. Funny thing is that everyone in the same boat as me who all got disabled on Friday. We have all been talking and we all got the same email at exactly the same time. So I'm thinking that appeals are not even reviewed by humans otherwise everyone's results should come at different times

    • One thing to bear in mind is that presently Adsense has between 2,000,0000 - 3,000,000 publishers worldwide, that figure was revealed by a Google engineer on their forum.

To me, that is a VERY large figure, when you consider that only about 3 years ago, they were still offering email support. Anyone remember that?

Obviously, Google cleans up house from time to time, and this very likely involves arbitrarily banning accounts. Perhaps not in the past, but now it is happening. Everything is done with automation.

They even banned a Premium Publisher a couple of weeks ago, that was making a VERY huge amount from Adsense. That guy just got banned like that and he could not even contact anyone at Adsense although he was a Premium Publisher....the guy had to go to the forum to appeal. You would think with the amount he is making, and his "status", that he would get a human review. Nope, and I think his appeal was turned down.

If you ask me considering all that is going on including their massive algo updates recently, I would say there are "dark" undercurrents swirling inside Google as of this moment, and as I said in another thread, it does not look good.
  • I'm sorry to hear that everyone is having such a tough time with Adsense of late. I just reponded to a similar thread that involved click bombing by a visitor, and the person is appealing the ban due to the matter being out of his hands.

That's the difficult part about being such a big advertising medium. They probably figure it's cheaper to cut their losses than to hire more people to police the situation. There are other alternatives to Adsense, so I hope you are all taking it in stride.

It's not easy to bounce back from getting banned, but if you made it with Adsense you can definitely find another ad provider or another monetization method. I wish you all good luck.
  • I got banned a couple years back for one of my arcade sites and they wouldn't tell me why I was banned except for that I was a threat to their advertisers. I was like what does that mean?
  • Adsense is a great way of making a consistent income online, but is a little scary when you hear these stories. If you are going to do adsense in the future make sure to have another stream of income otherwise you just get wiped out whenever google decides to pull the pin on you.
  • As I said in my huge post YOU GUYS ARE SLAVES TO GOOGLE
they can kick you to the curb in 5 minutes

If you get invalid clicks they do not care if you report it or not
their policy is ban the user, its cleaner for them than trying to prove who did what to who and why

and dont go crying to them for reconsideration, they dont reply to emails
you are nothing but a number to them, they have money you dont
    and they dont care

Yeah yeah yeah, facebook, twitter, youtube pffff, good luck with getting targetted traffic from them when you want to sell tv's or bicycles or anything like that.
  • I once heard there is a software out there to prevent multiple clicks from the same IP.

    Does yukon use that
  • i got banned to for no reason. i was extremely careful with my adsense. i was very close to $20 -$30 a day. they banned for my site email not working. they are a pain.
  • i will ban them from my newwork when i make my $400 billion next year ......lol
  • It makes you wonder if Adsense is worth the trouble. The income can be good if you have a niche site with good keywords BUT they can do whatever they want to you, whenever they want without recourse. It's disturbing when they can't tell you what you did wrong (and you know you did nothing at all to incur their wrath!)
  • Well you can read post here - WTF? Google Banning AdSense Publishers for , Google keep banning AdSense Publishers for potential fake clicks...

After you've been around IM for a while, you'll learn that those self proclaimed gurus are making money from people/traffic that act on emotions.

Notice that same page/content is stuffed with affiliate links that will save you from the big bad Google.

When surfing those guys sites, keep both eyes open & one hand on your wallet.
  • Well, it's sounds like a trend and kinda concerning to see tons of people
got mass banned for fraud click inactivity for no-reason for the last few
months. Some even lost few thousand dollars because of it.

What's more concerning is there's really rare case to hear the publisher
were winning the case via appeal form that google suggested.
  • Now Google introduced new Adsense Policy and Google also conduct seminar on Adsense Policy on 28 March 2012..
  • What concerns me is that we help google with their business, we as publishers help their advertisers so its a both win win situation, now for people who do this properly and never do nothing black hat i see that they are also getting banned for something they havnet done wrong.

Should be a point where google needs to listen to Internet Markerters, what if all the marketers join a facebook page, or a petition and forward it to the man people at google, yes they might not listen but they might.

Its about time that google adsense team listens to the publishers aswell as i believe we also play an important part in google too.

    • G'day ,

Let's fact it Google is just another money hungry mercenary corporation run by a bunch of mercenary money hungry pricks who just don't give a damn for anything other than self interest and profit no matter what the cost.
Sooner or later they will get what they really deserve - complete annihilation imposed by the majority of the people who enabled their success in the first place.
  • If you are running adsense or a target for click bombing you need to get adsensedefender.com. It has saved several my accounts.
  • Seems to me that Google can see the invalid click bombing, especially if you tell them about iy. And just cancel them and yuou go on about your business. Banning someone for this type of activity is going over board. You can't stop someone from click bombing you. There is a much easier and more profitable solution for all parties than the banning. If google is so smart, why arn'y they taking an alternative routre? Just doesn't make sense. I thought Google was smart?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Was Google Adsense making me any money? Not a lot. I have other methods SEO, Video marketing, product creation, offering services etc.

However adsense was starting to make me some money. I had been using it ONLY on my YouTube videos for a few months and then I received the invalid activity email and could not understand what I had done wrong. I never clicked on my ads or encouraged anyone to do so.

Here was part of my response to them

This is only part of the message, sorry when I went to find sent email it would not show up and when I went to there reply email it had my message all scrambled.

    They responded by saying

I find it slightly disheartening that according to this email I can never use Adsense again. Especially considering I only used it on videos and not on any of my sites. One income stream gone forever or until Google decides otherwise. I am not holding my breath however and found these articles to be of good reading.
