Should I start my site over or 301? "unnatural links"

I have no experience with 301 redirects.

In a dumb move, I thought it was ok to test 1 url with seolinkmonster on a good performing site of mine.

Obviously, I received the "unnatural links" message after submitting my site to webmasters to check up on it.

I deleted what I believe to be the "bad" pages and and offered more info to google for site reconsideration. I expect this to go nowhere.

I have become very familiar with the niche that I am in. I have no problem with starting over and creating a better site. I also have no problem spending the money on premium articles.

It will also be a good thing to start over because I have a better domain name that is "brandable" and not keyword stuffed.

My question is. Should I do a 301 redirect to a new site with new content or should I copy the site and do a 301?

What are some main points I need to consider about 301s, before I decide how to proceed?

I have no problem starting over but I confused as to how a 301 redirect can help or not help. If I copy site to new domain and quickly do 301 will google understand that this is not duplicate content?

I'm not worried about passing link love or page rank. I just want to know if google will give new domain a fresh start so to speak...

Thanks for your time.

I got started on a new site same niche anyways. I will focus on a better seo plan this time. If I can guidance before I start ordering more articles, I would appreciate an answer to my original post.

Doing a 301 redirect to a new domain from a penalized domain could be risky. The penalty could pass on to the new one.

Wait...that's a crazy thought because that would mean you could 301 to a competitor and send them to oblivion.

I guess if they saw the same WHOIS info on the new domain they might pass the penalty too. If it was someone else's domain then probably not, but you never know.

Honestly, not sure. Google is unpredictable recently. You are asking what the weather will be like in March of 2013 and we don't even know if the world will still exist by then.

The content is good. Site offers real value because I'm educated in niche. I don't care about pr or links. I want to start over with same content and 301 is only way to not get duplicate content penalty. Rewriting same content will be tough without losing quality of article structure.

Basically, I rather have them deindex my site and pretend it doesn't exist lol

      I wouldn't do a 301 from a penalized site.

On a side note SEO Link Monster created the perfect system for killing websites. You're the latest person out of many that have told me the the last thing they did before receiving the dreaded Unnatural Links Detected Notice was to sign up to SEO Link Monster.
