Should i must see Google Trend ?

I don't know much about google trend but i see this is good for targeting keywords. I want to know most of the keywords which is select is low competitive but google trend is not showing their data.. should i still choose to target that keyword. please help..

    Google trends shows you if a keyword/term is rising or dropping in popularity through out the months. I never seen google trends being help in showing how competitive a keyword is. You can use the google keyword tool and some other seo tools, that show if a keyword has high competition or not and how hard you gotta work to rank for it.

    But what about the traffic.. if i choose low competition keyword and there is no traffic than what the sense of doing seo on low competition. I see most of the medium type competition have enough traffic around 1500+ local searches.
