More Internal Linking Needed?

Hi, I'm the webmaster for Fabodylous | Bodybuilding Blog | Fitness Blog | Lifestyle Blog | Singapore

I was wondering, since on my sidebar, there's a widget "Latest Posts" which links every page to the latest few posts, do I still need to build internal links from my older posts to my new ones? Will it help with SEO? Thanks in advanced for any feedback.

    different kind of links.

    the internal page links are like "anchor text" linking one page to another.
    this is a download link to the plugin i use on every one of my sites. just install it, ad one key word per line and the page url you want to link to. the plugin will do all of the work linking for you on auto pilot.

    It doesn't help very much, but it does count a little bit, so you might as well add a few more internal links if you're bored.

    Google is supposedly going to penalize people for over SEOing their sites. With that being said, I think smart internal linking is necessary. Not just for Google, but to make your site easier to navigate. Your site should be meant for people not bots. That means that more user friendly it is the better.
