In theory, this will matter down the road as Google incorporates writer authority in the ranking algorithm. Plus you get that cool little author picture in the search results.

If you've got a single writer blog, it's relatively straightforward to hack your templates to include it.
But I was finding it complicated to add to my multi-writer blog templates, so we built a plugin.
