How Long do Backlinks take to Show Up?

So I decided to hop into the Niche website game with both feet and I'm sure I'm already making mistakes.

I built one site, man does writing content kind of suck. I just wanted to go through the whole process myself a bunch of times before outsourcing parts of it.

I am following pat flynn's method to a T
(cant post the link because I don't have enough posts here, but his system is basically a link wheel)

I followed this back linking strategy and then I used some back link checking tools and nothing showed up. I am also at 500+ google ranking for all of the keywords I chose.

If I type my website's address into google it does show up now, so I'm guessing that meens my site has been indexed by google. Why aren't my backlinks showing up and I guess my next question would be how long does it take to start seeing some traction in the rankings.

Its been up about 2 weeks or so

Thanks guys

That mean your backlinks site are not been index.
That why some people do ping those site where they build their backlink hope to get faster index.
It is no use if your backlink is not index and it will not give any weight and effect to your SEO.

2 weeks would be more than enough time.

You are obviously not building good quality backlinks.

SEO moves in weeks and months. Not hours and days.

That's something that took me awhile to learn when I started my first site.

That used to be the case, but it definitely is not so much like that now.

Right link, right site, right server.

We have not 100% figured it out, but we are testing however it is definitely possible to have a huge impact in not very long at all, and it has been seen on massive keywords more than long tail.

We can make changes that are seen within hours sometimes.

Clients have made changes we have seen in the rankings within 8 hours. Some good, but most not.

You can also try making backlinks at Forums like WarriorForum or the one in my signature (through Signatures).

They are usually crawled more often by Google, Bing and other Search Engine Bots. And give you results faster.

Makes sense, and I am part of many forums (although the majority dont allow non sponsor links)

Aren't you worried about advertising your niche to a bunch of folks who could potentially become your competitor?

Sorry I just looked back and it's only been a week, actually a week exactly today.. guess it just feels like 2 weeks.

Lots of work done this week but when its you're first time doing it, it takes a lot longer.

I bet this time around I can cut the time in half, just bought my second domain name in a totally different niche.

This Niche has 40k+ local searches, 3.50+ avg CPC and 2 pages with PR - or 0
Only problem is the longtail keyword is really long leaving me with a lengthy domain name.

I think this time around I am going to look into buying some of the content. Anyone have any suggestions?

I think if I can buy the content and spin it, I can triple my speed doing everthing else myself.

I think this might be a little healthy competition as WarriorForum is one of the biggest and best in the industry and there is no way we could even get close to them. But together we can increase the visibility of both Forums and help each other in different ventures. I am most definitely very interested!

As for your new website Avoid Spinning the Content at all Costs! Google has been cracking down a lot recently.

You can buy off good sellers on websites like Fiverr etc. You can get many uniquely written articles that way for cheap prices. Make sure you select the right person though and their work isn't spun or copied from somewhere else.

Your backlinks will be indexed as soon as the page is crawled once again by google spiders.

Could take a day could take a month

If you want quicker results ping and create an RSS out of the page

That is exactly my opinion! Forums usually get tons and tons of crawls a day. I get at least 24 crawls at my Forums a day and I am sure there is a bot on the Warrior Forum 24/7.

Posting links will usually help them get indexed almost instantly.

Don't be concerned with what numbers show up on these backlink tools as they are all for the most part inaccurate.

Use your search engine rankings as a measure of how well your backlink campaigns are going.

Keep in mind that there is no tool that can show you 100% of your links.

In my experience, Majestic SEO gives you the most comprehensive listed. Also try ahrefs as well.

Majestic SEO is the ONLY tool I've found that has backlink info.

ahrefs.com backlinkwatch.com and my keyword tool don't show any backlinks for even stuff I've done over a month ago.

Majestic at least shows a few of them.

I've had good traction though, one of my new sites just jumped from about 270th position for its main keyword to 70th to 6th all within about 2 weeks Just using UAW and dripping the links.

It could last from 1 day to 1 year... And of course sometimes it will NOT show in google. In most cases you could make it faster if you ping the website that link back to your own website/blog

What matters is if the links are indexed by Google or Bing. Not some link checking service.

It takes awhile for backlinks to show up in Google. It also matters how you are building your links. Pinging with sites like pingler.com helps, but doing this too often can cause your site to go down in ranking. Good luck.

Sometimes it just take a few days to get your backlinks indexed. It depends where your backlinks at. Don't ping your links too much as it looks unnatural to search engine.

yeah dude..the link wheel strategy has lost a little of it's ooomph....at least that is what I've experienced over the past 6 months. In googles panda update..they lowered the value of blog farms...and essentially link wheels ....so that the value from links from these types of strategies...well no longer has the link juice it once had.

While backlinking for seo purposes is always a crucial part in getting 1st page rankings..you must spend a majority of your time building a site with content...a site that people actually like and want to read and share with their friends.

Google is placing more value on how a site brings back the total data....like bounce rate...time spent on site..visitor flow...etc...to then give you rankings in their serps.

You should ping your links. If it doesn't show on Google, you'll see them in other search engines. They index links faster in my experience.

And I agree with Tyler. You may want to think twice about building a link wheel. It's a pretty old strategy,

You can try Alexa to see your backlinks. But Majestic seo works far better than Alexa.

Not all backlinks will be found by Google, so you might have to index them yourselves too. Yes, you have to index them just like your website

It depends on the links, if you created from high quality websites then 1 week is a sufficient time period so that they can get indexed in search engine but if they are generated from a low quality7 website then it will take a month or more to index in search engine. If they are not indexed by search engine then you need them to index them by implementing pinging or link pyramid scheme .

So how is your site doing now Joshn? I just started doing the backlinking strategy by Pat Flynn, so I am still waiting to see if what I've done so far is going to help. My site is not new though, I just changed the focus of it and url. I saw a major drop in the SERPS after this last update from Google after having a nice steady rise in traffic. That was before I started submitting articles though, so I'm hoping this will get me back up there. Still amazes me how some of those sites are still at the top of search results, but mine got knocked out somehow after over a year of being toward the top of page 1! Guess I just need to up the game though. Anyone know of any good free article submission software or low cost? I can't afford the one Pat promotes at the moment. So far I've just submitted to a few of the top article directories and done some social bookmarking.
