Banned? WordPress, AdSense

I started a site, abrahamlincolnbiography.org a few weeks ago and began slowing putting content on. Each article is handwritten and original.

I've installed Analytics successfully, but cannot verify in Google Webmaster Tools. Webmaster Tools returns a 500 Internal Server error when trying to fetch as Googlebot.

Searching the exact URL doesn't list the site. Am I banned?

Thank you for your insights!

  • Easy!

Let me google that for you

And no, you are not banned.

    Nice looking site BTW!

  • No, you are listed in google.

Go to google & search for this:

    site:abrahamlincolnbiography.org

However you need to start ranking for your keywords, just being indexed by google isn't enough.
  • Hah thanks gents. I like the "Let me google that for you" bit.

Am I safe with the AdSense at the top right in the scroll container?

    • If you are worried about accidental clicks, maybe.

What you should be worried is framing the ad in
a custom image and frame. Not allowed. Or at
      least like your extreme.

If you have seen other people do that, ignore
      them.

  • paulgl: To clarify the ad is in a DIV with a background image assigned. I'm certainly not interested in being banned, but after reading the TOS my interpretation permitted this method. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Black Hat Cat: Any recommended ways to fix the trojan scan? I've downloaded the site files, scanned them and had no luck. The host was also not helpful in trying to remedy that. I've searched Google and didn't have any luck in the end.

    Thanks again everyone!
  • your website still save and not banned
  • check your webmaster tool for further details otherwise you can check your domain on google by simply putting following string. site:yoursitename.com
  • Thanks for everyone's advice. I had searched the exact URL and found nothing before. Webmaster tools was again returning a 500 Internal Server error, which I assumed meant it wasn't indexed.

Can I get a confirmation on if the top ad in the scroll is okay or not?

    • Banned
The scroll looks good, but I wouldn't chance it with Adsense.
  • nice site man simple and stylish.
  • Thanks for the compliments guys! I tried to keep it simple but also instill qualities of the 1800s and Mr. Lincoln.

Any tips for clearing the trojan flags? Some computers flag for me, and others do not. I've tried reinstalling WordPress and disabling plugins in all and part. I'm going to move hosts today at some point, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.

On the scroll-based Google ad, I think I'm going to disable it and not risk being banned. Maybe make a banner to promote interior pages, like the books area.
  • Thats worrisome that multiple people would report a virus coming up on their scanner. How did that get there?....whats more worrisome is you dont seem to mind all that much

    • Thank you for your shared concern. I've asked for advice several times and made efforts to take care of it myself.

I both welcome and appreciate any suggestions you may have, but please read the thread before become worried.
