My 2 Week old website just cracked Page 1 in Google, very tough competition with PR5/6+

The idea of this thread is to give hope to everybody: it can be done, don't give up even against great odds! This thread is about getting ranked FAST, getting on page 1 in just two weeks from domain buying, for an extremely competitive keyword, where all the pages in the top 10 spots are very aged and have Page PR of PR6 and PR5.

I was very happy for this. Our new website, listed in my sig, just got into page one in Google for a big keyword. I had to remove the keyword due to very good advice. My apologies. I was excited and started this thread without enough consideration. The keyword will stay secret for now. We are on page one for several keywords, sometimes even higher than the Huffington Post. For example, for one keyword we are already number 2. Our main focus is: Investing.

Thank you to a lot of people here for your advice. Very tough competition, average PR Rank is 5.5.

Update: The site is now ranked 4th on google.com, 3rd on google Canada, 4th on google UK, and 2nd on Google South Korea.

Update: 1st spot on Google.com, June 28th, 2012!

Good one friend but some piece of advice, better remove your keyword from your post or you'll find that ranking drop faster than a nuclear weapon...competitors are everywhere.

Hate to tell you this... but on my end, the Google front page for "tsx" is tmx.com, tmxmoney.com, the Wikipedia entry for the Toronto Stock Exchange, and a series of articles about the 2012 Acura TSX automobile.

The tsx-today.com domain is nowhere to be seen.

I get similar results in Bing.

As you might know, Google personalizes results. To get the generic results, you need to log out from google and clear your cookies. Or use a serp checker. In any case, that is not the keyword we rank for in google.com, just locally. The other two people above saw the keyword I talked about, but I had to remove it at the moment.

I'm seeing the same thing as CDarklock, your domain isn't showing for me within the first 40 results - and that is with a serp checker - what are you using to check with?

When you first posted this, including the keyword, you were indeed right above HP for that keyword on the first page.

Not for just the 3 letter word, though.

I just visited his site and it took me about 10 seconds to figure out what keyword he ranked for. And yes it's true...His site is ranked 1 spot a head of the huffington post.

      His site is ranked 8
      Huuffington post is ranked 9

I'd do some work on the site if you don't want it to dance and settle lower down, its got zero content above the fold and not really that much content in general site wide

Hi Andy. Thank you for your input. If you have any suggestions for the kind of content we can have, please let me know.

By the way, one can already make millions, perhaps billions from the info on our website From the data we have, it is possible to identify undervalued companies, some of them selling at just 30% of intrinsic value.

      To the OP...

Since you're fairly new here I think it may behoove you to understand that the WF has a lot of Google love.

Many times folks come on here and create threads in the same vain as yours only to discover that the thread in the WF will then rank for that keyword and searchers may be exposed to the thead through a Google link. Keep in mind all the posts in a thread up to the 50th post are on a single page as the spider sees it. You get a lot of people using the keyword or keyphrase and that silly bot thinks the thread is a good candidate for the keyword.

      This also applies to sigs.

A few years ago I came out with a new product and had it in my sig file. I made quite a few posts on a heated thread that went on for pages and guess what...when the name of my product was Googled that damn thread was right near the top.

      Just food for thought...

If I own your domain name, I would be on the first spot on Google in 2 weeks not on first page

Your domain has played a big part of it with some optimization you can be in first spot

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but you're probably just temporarily benefiting from the "freshness" part of the Goggle search algorithm.

Could be, but we already went through that phase. We were on page 2, then we went to page 11, and we are now back up again.

If your site is only two weeks old, then this is probably wrong. You're still in the freshness phase.

No to burst your bubble but this just looks like typical google dance for new sites. Check within a month where you're at, but don't be surprised if it's not where near the front page.

thanks for the inspiring post dude. Yeah its a good thread for the people who are about to give up. But the reality is that the Rank doesn't matter. The main thing is your visitors. and we all know that its not necessary that your high PR web site will get high traffic

Thank you for the kind words my friend. The math is simple: if a website is on page 20 it will get zero traffic, if it is on page 1 it will get traffic! How much depends on many things, but it is a lot better to be on page 1, no doubt about it.

Well, tsx, don't be overexcited. Same thing happend with my signature page, and I was even able to get PR2 in less than 2 months. Then Google decide ( for unknown reason to me) to knock me over, so my site now is nowhere to be found in the first 10 pages for main keyword.
So wait for a month or two and even then you can not be sure 100 % in your place in Google.

This is a completely Panda Proof system that we have been developing after the changes. We have a special set up. The links are built naturally, about 100/day. All of them indexed by Google naturally and aged. All of the authority links, not profiles or xrumer or anything, all of these are hand made. That is why it costs a little, but it really works. By the way, we don;t buy the backlinks, but we do hire people to make sure we get the visibility we deserve. But don't pay webmasters just for links or anything like that.
