BMR Hit. A lesson to all link builders

So BMR was hit, badly. Basically all blogs de-indexed.

But this is a lesson and gives us more of an insight into how the algorithm works and where it is heading.

It is a well known fact that Google likes to update it's algorithms constantly in a fight to eliminate artificially ranking or gaming the system.

The fact that Google had to manually take down BMR gives us a huge insight into the future of backlinking.

Those who say backlinking is dead are severely misinformed.

This just proves that high PR links from blog posts with contextual links work very well. Not only do they work now, but they will work for a while to come.

Google could have easily discounted these types of links and therefore turned BMR redundent, but the fact that BMR was manually taken down means that these types of blog links are extremely powerful for your website to have.

It is always great to see these sorts of drastic measures from Google, it allows us to learn what it values and how we can focus our strategies towards pleasing Google that little bit more.

I honestly can't believe that there is so much talk about how all the networks are going to die overnight and just stop working. The obviously work since Google is manually doing the work to take them down. However, so many people are thinking that it's the end of the world just because they have done an entire 3 minutes of reading on the Warrior Forum

I often ponder over if Google checks in at the warriorforum, I don't see why not, it makes sense for them to do it, right?

As for BMR, look right here on warrior, the adsense section has a sticky section devoted to BMR, not difficult for Google to spot.

I'm sure they do, we're probably the biggest help at taking down these networks honestly.

Yea I've also thought of this. They must do surely!
Everyone here was talking about BMR, so it would be so easy for them to flag all these blogs by signing up for them and then reverse engineering them.

Ok...so no one talk about any high PR blog services anymore...all contact via PM only

Chicken Licken. The sky is falling. The sky is falling.

Must be at least 3 or 4 times a year that we hear the usual "SEO is dead" mantra. Simple facts are link diversity (with a healthy mix of "social signals") will more than likely protect you.

If Google checks in at the Warrior forum they should have stopped BMR a long time ago!

It is funny how people are now saying Google is cracking down on blog networks and this is a really poor way of link building, but if you think about it, if they were cracking down on blog networks they would simply write blog links out of their algo.

The fact that they have manually targeted BMR simply means that BMR was making a huge dent in the search engines, these are the BEST types of backlinks. If you are smart about it and don't leave a footprint it will be very easy to rise to the top through high PR blog post backlinks.

The takedown of BMR mixed with everybody running around like headless chickens is going to make things very interesting in the SEO world over the next couple of months
