Which worked, wiki links or Angela's links?

Since the BMR loss, one of my sites has dropped almost all of the ranked keywords, as expected.

Except for one keyword that hung in there on page 2.

So I started digging through my records to figure out why... it turns out that I had done two fiverr gigs for that keyword, one for posting spun articles to around 500 high pr wikis, and one for around 200 Angela's profile links on high pr sites.

So I can maybe learn something useful here.

Which one of these two gigs likely "worked" and why?

Thanks.

The specific ones I used, I may not use again, and may not recommend.

But those are pretty generic descriptions and there are many gigs to choose from, so you should have no problem finding one to use :-)

what ever may be the gig , I would not prefer using profile links directly on your main site. wiki links is the good option as those are contextual. but you need to use it with caution and avoid footprints as much as you can.

    example.
    Use different user ids
    Try to use multiple articles
    Try proxies for submissions

Also be aware that wiki links are not that easy to get indexed you may need to do a lot of things to get it indexed. But for sure wiki links are always better than profile links

To some extent I see that as a benefit... as they'll gradually be found, or not, over an extended time.

Your other keywords had only BMR posts?

Profile links are dirt. Spun can be decent if done manually(or at least proof read).

Yeah, I was just starting to work on the site.

Sounds like the consensus is that the wiki links work and are probably the source of the rankings.

Although wiki links are an AWESOME addition to everyone's arsenal and I sell them myself remember 95% of them are nofollow

Although this doesn't necessarily mean they didn't help you more it's a hint that it's possible the others were the deciding factor

I'd go for wikis, over profile links anyday. Wikis may be mostly no follows, but they still make a good enough impact on your Serps.

Are you guys posting wiki links directly to your money site? Anyone using them in a pyramid, at all? Would there be any benefit to this since most of them are no follow?

most of wiki link is nofollow and other user (competitor) can change the link so i think that useless. for angela link is like forum profile but have more quality since it's came from high PR site.
i like to create link pyramid scheme for my sites.
