Hi all,
What is the meaning of the bounce rate and what is the affect of this?

  • Bounce rate basically is Google Analytic's measure of people who visit your site and immediately "bounce off" ie leave your site.

Say somehow someone finds your site from a search engine. If they click on your site and then leave without clicking around anywhere else, this is a "bounce".

Google correlates high bounce rate to poor or uninteresting content, because if your site was important, they assume people would have surfed through it a little more.

A high bounce rate can hurt your search engine rankings, though it is not a huge factor in the algorithm.

    • It is the percentage of visitors who exit your site from the landing page itself without navigating any further. High bounce rate on a page means that it is highly inefficient in appealing visitors to use your site.

      to calculate use this

Bounce rate = Visits that left after one page / Total number of visits

  • Bounce rate (sometimes confused with exit rate) is a term used in web site traffic analysis. It essentially represents the percentage of initial visitors to a site who "bounce" away to a different site, rather than continue on to other pages within the same site.
  • A high bounce rate will hurt your ranking. Gooogle's goal is to provide "good" search results. A high bounce rate indicates when someone clicks through to your site they do not remain they immediately leave your site. A low bounce rate is thought to indicate quality content that visitors want.
  • Bounce rates statistics on those visitors who remain on a site for five seconds or less or those who visit only one page of a site.
