[ASK] Long no updates wordpress still can rank?

Hi all, I'm a newbie in SEO world and I'm wondering whether my old wordpress (which I have not update for almost 6 months), still can rank in google or not if I optimize it now with new posts (plus onsite and offsite SEO)?

I check the google cache, and the last google crawl visit was 5 days ago.

If I cannot rank this site anymore, I would prefer to buy a new domain and transfer the content to the new domain.

Sorry for my English, I'm not from a country which speak English.

    Yes, the old site will rank just the same as new site.

    You mentioned the Google Cache was up to date so it sounds like your good to go (still have indexed pages).

      But I check the SERP for my pages, all of them were even not in top 1000 of google serp position. Is it still possible to rank this kind of site by building backlinks?:confused:
