How effective is a blog comment from a PR7 page?

So I found a page with an actual PR of 7 that only had 5 comments so far and I left a comment with my anchor text. I also found a PR6 page (on a different domain) as well which also had like 3 comments which I left a comment.

So my question is how much help will these 2 high PR comment links help with my SERP movement. The two pages are not relevant to my niche. Will I see any sort of movement from just these 2 high PR comments or will I need more of these?

Is getting like 1 PR7 with low OBL worth more than like 200-300 PR2 or PR3 comment links?

I don't think you can really say that 1 PR7 link is worth more then 200-300 PR2 or PR3 links as you also have to count the fact that it also means something when 200 sites are linking to you instead of only 1 site.

But such PR6 and PR7 link will sure help in the rankings but they have to be dofollow links, if they are nofollow they still count but a LOT less.

What do you think of the following chart?

I got PR5 with 1 PR6 link. But there was only 1 outbound link on that PR6 page so chart could be close when there are a few outbound links on your comment pages.

I think this backlinks will not give any SERP to your site. Because your back links are in different niche.

Yeah what he said, so you may as well hand over the page you found

Seriously, I'd love to have that kind of link no matter how unrelated the page is.

I suspect that these links will help, if your comment is accepted. And it is quite difficult to find high ranking pages that accept any old comment so if you have managed to get that link you can feel quite pleased with yourself.

Comments were both accepted and showing up on the pages. I'm just curious to know if a few of these high PR links can really give some sort of improvement in the SERPs.

If its a PR 7 and PR 6 blog than definitely a link from such blog will have much value than lower PR but again it depends on numbers of link.

Both of these links are dofollow and very low OBL.

It's going to really help your PR. One PR7 link could bump you up to PR4 or maybe even PR5. but how much it will help you to rank for that specific term is impossible to say.

    You can wait and see...

Ya I guess I will have to wait it out to and see if I notice any SERP movement with just these links.

If your links is dofollow and would have being from the same niche, you would have surely got the advantage..But if its neither dofollow or of your niche(as you said) , you'll get some advantage of it.

I even tried commenting with more than 6 website with PR above 5 but no use with them as i did't witnessed any sort of improvements with my website. But ppl used to say that PR6 and PR7 link will sure help in the rankings but it did't worked out in my favor.
