Getting listed on high PR Blogs

For one of my client sites I noticed that we were getting a fair amount of traffic for a relatively competitive keyword and I noticed that just ONE link from a very high PR blog was able to out-do over 300 manually made links made over 6 months. Instead of paying 100 for 50 links, I am willing to pay 75 for one link or article on PR 7/8 sites and I've emailed alot on Google but I can't seem to find any. I've checked out services like PRweb but I read that Google doesn't count the links they post as highly. Does anyone know where I can buy one link on a very high PR news article or blog?

  enough to get my ranked for a decently (but not impossibly) comeptitive keyword that gets searched about 3000 times monthly, my domain name is the keyword no variation except for a dash
